  I have a recently bought S/Hand 207cc. After topping up the engine oil,(did`nt overfill) the cooling fan stays on regardless of time With the engine management light remaining on. Seems to run ok with all fluids topped up.

  I'm up to changing my auxillary belt tensioner pulley, but having problems loosening the tension. I have a peugeot 306 1.6 1995. I'm also thinking of changing the belt(s) or at least the other one that runs power steering. Just need to know how to loosen those belts, thanks!

  Just collected a 2009 1.4 S (80hp) Golf Mk6. According to HJ's road test (in the engines section) its a chain cam engine, however the VW salesman seemed to think its a belt cam. Anyone know which is actually true?

  Anyone watch the BBC series "George Gently" with Martin Shaw? I noticed last time it was shown and 'tis true this series too, all the 60's vehicles featured have their Road Fund Tax Discs on the offside.   I was recently driving in France and entered a tunnel, some matrix signs, lit up with a red circle on a black background with a ₡ symbol. Can any of the knowledgeable folk here tell me what it is (though I suspect it?s an impending fine). (The signs were just like those ones that tell you that you are going too fast and flash up the speed limit.)

  Monday PM 17th visited the Portsmouth DVLA with paperwork to transfer registration to a retention certificate, Thursday telephoned and advised new tax cert, and docs to obtain new plate was ready for collection or post, Saturday recd the new V5C registration document.
