Italian sports car fans will have their eyes on a Lamborghini Jalpa, which is estimated to fetch between £70,000 and £80,000. Only 410 were ever made, with just 35 of these in right hand drive. Replacing the Urraco and the Silhouette in 1981, the Jalpa was Lamborghini’s ‘junior’ offering. Power came from a quad-cam 3.5-litre V8 producing 255bhp, giving the car a 145mph top speed. -
First car to get a speeding ticket to star at London Concours of Elegance 11 May 2017 (News)
The law at the time required all cars stick to a limit of 2mph, and that they be led by a man on foot waving a red flag at all times. But Walter Arnold, driving through Paddock Green in Kent, was doing neither. As a result, Walter was convicted of speeding and forced to pay a shilling fine plus costs. It was in late 1896, with the advent of the Locomotives Act, that the need for a red flag bearer and 2mph speed limit were abolished and the limit raised to 14mph. -

Time-warp Ford Granada Scorpio for sale 25 Nov 2016 (News)
The car, which has covered just 1325 miles will be offered at auction by Classic Car Auctions on 3 December at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre. The car, which was saved from destruction by its current owner, is a right-hand drive, automatic 24-valve example. It was built by Ford and donated to a technical college in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to be used for the training of technicians before the production model was launched to the open market. -

MG Car Club hosts successful open day 21 Sep 2015 (News)
While the majority of visitors on the day drove an MG, many didn’t and were keen to know more about the club, the factory and MG’s Abingdon history. The MGCC was able to return to Abingdon following a massive fund-raising drive. The initiative meant it could the property at number 12 Cemetery Road, which was then restored opened as Kimber House in July 1990. Kimber House has undergone several changes since 1990, most notably with the addition of the garage block, and the John Thornley Suite, opened in 2010 and remains a favourite destination for MG fans from right across the globe. -

Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Hyundai to preview performance-focused ‘N’ models 27 Aug 2015 (News)
Aside from the WRC car, the other big star on Hyundai’s stand will be the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept car – a futuristic supercar concept (pictured below) that will be available to drive in the Gran Turismo PS3 game, but isn’t set to go into production. Finally there will be a high-performance version of the axed Veloster, powered by a 300PS 2.0-litre engine (pictured above). -
Kei cars to headline Autumn Classic and Fringe 12 Aug 2015 (News)
These lightweight cars often pack some serious technology – the Daihatsu Mira Avanzato TRxx R4, for example, has all-wheel drive and an intercooled turbocharger. Other well-known Kei cars include the Suzuki Cappuccino (pictured), the Autozam AZ-1, the Honda Beat and the Daihatsu Copen – the latter of which was officially sold in the UK, albeit with a larger engine than the Japanese market car. -

Maserati Boomerang concept heads to auction 16 Jun 2015 (News)
. Based on a Maserati Bora, it boasted a normally-aspirated 4.7-litre, 300bhp V8 which was mounted behind the driver. Mated to a five-speed box, it was rear wheel drive. In 1974, the car was sold to a private buyer. But the Boomerang is still in working order and fully road legal. Inside, its unique dashboard meant that the all the guages were in a circle around which the steering wheel (minus any centre brace) rotated around. -
Two BMW E30 M3s for sale at Anglia auction 12 Jun 2015 (News)
It’s got 140,000 miles on the clock, comes with various invoices and MoT certificates, but no service book. It’s been converted from left- to right-hand drive and fitted with a Cat 1 alarm. Involved in an insurance claim in 1998, it’s a Cat D. This Cat D BMW M3 is estimated to fetch £12,000-£16,000 at ACA sale The current owner says it’s seen little use over the past five years and while it runs it will need recomissioning. Expect to pay £12,000-£16,000 – which makes this an incredibly cheap M3. -

Much more exciting, however, is the original and fully functioning Blaupunkt cassette deck, which tells you everything about how well this car has been cherished and looked after – as opposed to being hacked about with and slammed. We’re told it drives very well, although we’d want to know when the cambelt was last changed – only the 318s were chain cams. Aside from that, it just depends on how you like your bodywork.
