  Nissan reveals plans for Geneva Motor Show 7 Feb 2008 (News)
  Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has announced the vehicles it will be displaying at this year's Geneva Motor Show. The company will be showing off its new Murano model, along with the Pivo 2 and GT-R cars. Stylistically an improvement on the previous version, the Murano also offers improved comfort and performance, Nissan states.

  Sunderland site steps up Nissan production 31 Jan 2008 (News)
  The vehicle, available in four and front-wheel drive, as well as five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission, helped push production at the site to 353,000 last year. Nissan adds that this makes it the UK's largest producer and exporter of automobiles, with the company hoping to hit the 400,000 mark this year. The Sunderland site was originally developed as a way of deflating the cost of exporting Nissan cars to European customers at less expense.

  Across the world, the company added that a 15.5 per cent increase in production had been achieved, with some 274,661 units made.   The firm's home market of Japan registered a 10.9 per cent hike in the number of cars constructed, with 112,698 new Nissans hitting dealerships in the Land of the Rising Sun during October. But this comes as the company has been hit with a manufacturing crisis in North America. Some 686,500 Sentra and Altima vehicles have been recalled by Nissan after a fault was discovered in the installed software.
