London gears up for classic spectacular 29 Oct 2014 (News)
Now in its tenth year, the Regent Street Motor Show means this famous location being closed to traffic for the day, from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus, enabling enthusiasts and tourists alike to enjoy a wide variety of machinery – from the earliest days of motoring to the very latest supercars. 2013’s show attracted more than 400,000 visitors, and the organisers are confident of equal success this year. Cars on display in Regent Street will range from the earliest pioneering vehicles in the history of the motor car through to some of today’s most futuristic designs. -
A Grand Monday: Triumph Toledo 24 Mar 2014 (News)
What made the Toledo particularly interesting was that it used the front-wheel-drive 1500 (nee 1300)’s body with a shorter nose and tail, and a less plush interior - designed to take over where the old Herald 13/60 left off. It was effective and typically nice to drive - and would end up donating its rear-wheel drive underpinnings to the 1500TC, Dolomite and Dolomite Sprint. -

Report: Bonhams classic car auction, Oxford, 15 June 19 Jun 2013 (News)
Top-selling car lots were a 1966 Aston Martin DB6 at £133,660 (estimate £60,000-80,000), a 1953 Bentley R-Type Special Roadster which achieved £74,300 against a £50,000-60,000 estimate, and a 1952 Cisitalia ‘Nuvolari Spyder’ that also realised an above-estimate £68,700. Meanwhile the 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible that was first owned by Sarah, Duchess of York, sold for £13,800, and a 1966 AEC Routemaster RML Double-decker Bus sold for £19,550. John Polson, Specialist in the Bonhams Motor Car Department, said: 'Once again, our Oxford sale was a great success. -

Ford axes UK vehicle production 25 Oct 2012 (News)
Combined the two closures will see 1400 jobs lost including logistics and support jobs. Ford is also closing its factory in Genk, Belgium, which builds the Mondeo, Galaxy and S-MAX. Production is expected to move to Valencia, Spain during 2014. The news comes just weeks after Ford announced a huge product offensive in Europe with 15 new models - including the new Transit - due to be introduced in the next five years. -
Silverstone Auctions to Hold 2nd Sale at CarFest North 31 Aug 2012 (News)
Most noteworthy of the cars estimated under £10,000 is a 1960 Morris Mini Minor that appeared with Twiggy in M&S TV commercials and become so famous that Corgi made a model of it. The Mini is estimated at between £7,000 - £9,000. Also worth mentioning, a multiple concours-winning, low mileage 1967 Austin Mini Countryman, estimated at £12,000 - £15,000, and a1990 Jaguar XJS V12 expertly rebuilt by KWE Engineering of Top Gear fame, estimated at £8,000 - £11,000. -

Big Classic Auction at Blenheim Palace on 14th July 5 Jul 2012 (News)
Classes include“The Churchill Trophy” for best car of the day, the COYS “Spirit of Motoring” to celebrate the epitome of the motoring enthusiast and “The Kensington Trophy” for the most elegant design. The auction includes a fine selection of micro cars, a 1965 Morris Mini Cooper S recreated to the Italian Job specifications and the Jaguar Legend collection, with several E-Types, a SS100, a SS Tourer and various models of the XK and MK series, amongst others. Cars once owned by famous personalities include a 1954 Rolls-Royce that belonged to Dirk Bogard, and a 1972 Volkswagen Karman Ghia once owned by Kelly Jones and Javier Weyler of Stereophonics. -
Hertz to Offer McClaren MP4-12Cs as Rent-a-Cars 29 Mar 2012 (News)
In addition to the McLaren MP4-12C, the Lamborghini LP560-4 Bicolore, Porsche Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet, Ferrari 458 Italia, Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes S Class Brabus are only available to renters through the Première Velocity service. Other super cars on offer include the Rolls Royce Phantom, the Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Aventador, Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster and McLaren MP4. -
Children in Need Drives into Goodwood 4 Jul 2011 (News)
Making a special appearance at this year’s Festival of Speed was BBC2’s very own Chris Evans and his fleet of “Magnificent Seven” Ferraris. Evans once again concluded his charity drive and dine event with a full throttle assault on the hillclimb at Goodwood, raising £1.1 million for Children in Need. -

Hyundai launches revised i10 2 Feb 2011 (News)
Hyundai has given its popular i10 city car a comprehensive update with a new look and upgraded specification while at the same time launching the i10 Blue - Hyundai's first sub-100g/km CO2 model . Chief among the changes are enhancements to the i10's design - both in the cabin and on the exterior. These key design alterations gives the i10 the new Hyundai family style, alongside other recently launched models such as ix35 and ix20 models. -
Barons December 7th Classic Auction Still On 3 Dec 2010 (News)

August sees a 17 per cent drop in new car sales 6 Sep 2010 (News)
Although August was expected to be 2010's weakest month - ahead of the September 60-plate registration change - and typically only accounts for 3.3% of annual sales. Last August over 16,000 cars or 25% of the market were registered through the scrappage scheme. -
Morris Minor Royal Mail van in September Charity Auction 24 Aug 2010 (News)
Tim Naylor, PR Manager, BCA commented "This Royal Mail Morris Minor van will strike a chord with anyone who remembers Royal Mail deliveries in the 60's and 70s. It has been beautifully restored by Royal Mail mechanics based at the workshop on the Isle of Wight." Registered on 4th February 1970, the van was used for deliveries in Christchurch, Bournemouth & Poole during its initial six years service. -
Renault TV advert banned by the ASA 1 Apr 2010 (News)

Renault responded by saying: "Renault is disappointed with ASA's adjudication on its electric car television advertisement. The intention behind the ad was to show that the zero-emission cars on screen (due for release from 2011) produced no emissions in road use. -
