VW Bora wiper problem 26 Apr 2006 (Forum)
I have a problem with my Bora (2110 vintage) and its windscreen wipers. There appears to be a very poor contact between wiper and glass, particularly at any kind of speed. I initially thought it was time to change the wipers, and replaced them with Bosch wipers (with a spoiler)but have noticed no improvement. -
Objects thrown from M'way bridges 7 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Probably I'm the closest back-roomer to the tragic incident which occurred 2 weeks ago on the M3 when a brick dropped/thrown from a bridge penetrated the windscreen of a lorry, striking the driver on the chest, and resulting in a fatal heart attack. Miraculously the driver brought the lorry to a halt on the hard shoulder, preventing other casualties. I'm lost for words in admiration of this skilful action, and in condemnation for the type of scum who indulge in this hideously and self-evidently dangerous practice, thankfully rare - I think - I hope. -
Rain-friendly tarmac 11 Oct 2001 (Forum)
I was very surprised to find that on newer stretches motorway, the road surface seemed to 'soak up' the spray to the extent that it was like driving in dry conditions, other than the rain hitting the windscreen. i.e. there was no spray at all from the wheels of other vehicles. I am very curious as to how this works. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks Dave. -

Ford Focus - mrll facelift electric heater replacement 1 Feb 2018 (Forum)
Hi I have found a problem this this heater element. It’s not the main heater just the one that goes on when you have it on full heat. It is making the lights flicker. Disconnect it and the lights are normal. My question is how to replace it? Any advice or help is appreciated. -
telephone boiler sales spiel 9 Mar 2016 (Forum)
The other day I listened to one of the cold calling messages about central heating boilers I usually delete automatically on the first sentence. He said that from the end of 2016 all homes MUST have an A rated boiler. I do not believe this to be the case, but wondered if there is anything that could possibly be distorted to justify the claim. -

Rear demisters feeble 1 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I can't understand why my electric heating demisters are only partially working. The lower half of the window no problem but with the upper half they only do a limited job and very slow. There can't be a break in the wire as the top half wouldn't work at all possibly none of the element would work if there was break.
