  • Audi A3 + S3 (1996 - 2001) - 98 1.8 Brake Lights Not working/Now not starting 15 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Hi all, The brake lights stopped working on my Audi A3 1.8, checked the fuse which appeared to be ok, but just to check i swapped it with another 10 amp fuse in the rack. Unbeknown to me i had just swapped it with the power supply for the onboard diagnosis/telephone.
  • Audi A6 + RS6 (1997 - 2004) - 98 1.8T A6 AEB oil leak after new filter 6 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I changed the oil and filter today after some difficulty removing the old filter fitted by Audi at 40K now 49K. New filter fitted new Edge 5-30 oil and fired her up. Sptooed a small leak. On closer investigation it was not coming from the filter seal but from the seal between the oil cooler and the oil filter retainer.
  • Audi A3 + S3 (2001 - 2003) - 03 1.8T EPC warning light after jump start 26 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Hi, I have an Audi A3 1.8T 03 which has been largely trouble free. It had a fault with the factory-sit radio which was draining the battery so I had that fixed under extended warranty but 2 weeks later the battery went flat so i had the AA jump start it and now the radio is completely dead (sure that'll be covered under parts guarantee) but the EPC warning light has come on and stayed on.
  • Audi A3 + S3 (2003 - 2008) - MPI special Edition 15 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Seeing the link below about a face lift A3 coming out probably answers my point. I am looking at getting a golf or A3, have been looking for a while and the Audi website seems to have lowered their prices and offered 2 year Warranties if you buy by the end of April. My question is I have seen a 2004, 47K, 1.6 MPI special edition at £8250. This seems good value compared to golfs I have been looking at.
  • Audi A3 + S3 (1996 - 2001) - To remap, or not to remap? 8 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Hi There, Just a quick question really. I have an Audi A3 1.8T (Automatic tranny 2000 - 53K) and am thinking about getting a remap of the ECU to increase it's power. I enjoy the car at the moment, but I thought a remap would put a bigger grin on my face.
  • 52 reg Audi A4 £3500 - a good price?? 18 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Looks like I may be getting an Audi A4TDi on 52 plate with the 130bhp engine with 6 speed box. Will be buying it from my Dad as its curently his company car and coming off fleet in 4 weeks time and the company wants £3500 for it. It will need MoT and will have done 110,000 miles or thereabouts and not long ago had a full service that was nearly £1000 as it needed a few suspension bushes and a couple of tyres.
  • £1.5k, A4 or 323? 12 Apr 2006 (Forum)
He's not a racer, and likes the way the both drive, though he reckons the Audi's brakes are TOO sharp (??)...while the Mazda's steering is a bit light... So which would you choose?
  • audi 80 inlet air temperature sensor 8 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Hi there people i own an audi 80 H registration,It is a 2.0 e.I am looking for the inlet air temperature sensor.I have looked at my engine and there are lots of sensor connectors on it.I believe it is the connector nearest the airbox which is connected to a little black box,But i would like this to be confirmed for me.There are a few more sensors towards the inlet manifold but i figure the air temperature would need to be taken straight after the airbox. The sensor i see has two wires connected to it and is right above the airbox which is basically hidden from view as it's tucked away underneath what i believe to be the power steering pump just because it has hydraulic lines connected to it.Please help me!!
  • Merc v's BMW v's Audi A6 28 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Hello their, I am thinking of buying an 18 month old Audi A6 3.0 TDI or BMW 530i TDI or E class TDI, in each case the 3 litre version or near equivalent. I would be grateful of some opinions on the respective merits of each marque. I am thinking of keeping the purchase for at least 5-10 years, so durability and reliability is important. 10-15 years ago such a decision in my opinion would have been striaghtforward as Merc were the best, but today al premium band German cars cost the earth for so so reliability and quality...but i any event what do fellow back room guys think?
  • Blown Audi A4 parking light 28 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I have a 2002 model Audi A4 Avant with Xenon headlights. The offside front parking light has blown. This wouldn't be a problem except this has triggered a permanent warning on my driver information system where the radio display normally lives.
  • Audi A6 (old shape) vs Passat 28 May 2004 (Forum)
Just had a go in a 1 year Audi A6 - impressions: 1. Just like the Passat inside, plastics no better quality 2. Drives just like the Passat 3. Can't see the point of the 2.5tdi (the one I was in) - the 1.9 130bhp tdi seems just as pockey (maybe slightly noiseir on startup) Why pay all that extra, then ?!
  • audi 80 - diy oil changing 25 Apr 2004 (Forum)
hope somebody can help I have a 1993 audi 80 which has done over 170K. I have found the minor servicing has now begun to get expensive especially when they probably only change the oil. I am wondering if changing the engine oil is a DIY job and relatively simple.
  • Audi A4 climate-control tip 27 Dec 2003 (Forum)
A4 owner (1.8 1997) got in touch with me regarding a problem with his climate control. The stepper motors had stopped moving (not good at this time of year). Audi dealer charged him £75 to look at fault codes and told him ECU was U/S. £700 P+L repair estimate. He got a secondhand ECU for £80, connected it up and it too didn't work. I had a look at the secondhand unit's PCB and found three dry joints where the ribbon cable goes to the control keys.
  • New Audi A3 Good Buy? 29 Sep 2003 (Forum)
My friend is thinking about buying a new Audi A3 and I would be very grateful for any advice I can pass on to her. She has been offered an A3 2.0 Sport FSI for £19355 incl. met paint. If she signs before the end of this month she has been offered a further £1k discount and £1k trade in on her Peugot 306.
  • Audi TT overheating 26 Sep 2003 (Forum)
My TT is overheating and I suspect it is the thermostat, I\'ve dropped it off at the local Skoda garage as it is too far to get it to the nearest Audi Stealer. I have a few questions. 1. Has anyone else got any experience of overheating on similar engines VAG 1.8 Turbo 180bhp. 2. Should I expect it to be the thermostat or could it be the water pump or something else?
  • Aluminium body Audi A8 10 May 2003 (Forum)
Just been reading an article on automotive metals basically covering that aluminium is closing the gap on market share with steel. One interesting thing emerges, that in the Audi A8 redesign that the 3.4 metre long side panel, eg the rear wing, C, B, A pillars and part of the roof (basically all the LHS except front wing and doors) is now made out of a single pressing compared to the previous 8 separate parts.
  • Audi A2 8 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Took the Lupo in for a service this morning and drove away in an Audi A2 1.4 TDI. courtesy car. Cor, it don't half shift! Thinking I was doing about 50 I glanced down at the speedo and saw an indicated 80 (on a private road of course). HJ's car by car breakdown has it as a three cylinder, you'd never believe it the way it drives.
  • Audi 90 Quattro 11 Feb 2001 (Forum)
I have an elderly Audi 90 quattro. 1989 2.3 Litre. which has problems in the fuel area. Can you help/advise? The fuel pump had been noisy for about 3 months and recently after about three miles ( when engine warm) the engine would just cut out.
  • Honda Civic - Honda Civic vs Audi A4 15 Sep 2023 (Forum)
Can I ask if my assumption is correct - that Honda civic is certainly more reliable, cheaper-to-run option than Audi? Thank you
  • What would you go for? 11 Feb 2021 (Forum)
and 19” alloys.   Are Audi massively more expensive for servicing and parts?  Paul
