  Nissan owns 15% of Renault and renault 44% of Nissan. I've seen it suggested in here that Nissan reliability will go down and Renault up. Any evidence either way?

  I have extended nissan warranty and they want to charge me 509.72 to change cambelt, I am getting it done at our local garage which is VAT registered for £250 but the nissan service team said that I am now not covered under my warranty for any problems in the future with my engine, surely this is not correct with the new law in 2003 .

  Would anyone know whether the 2.5 chain cam engine in the Nissan Navara is sourced from Nissan or Renault ? Have already checked out car x car details, which neither mentions whether this is a Nissan engine or the potential reliablility of this vehicle. After reading about numerous turbo problems experienced with the Nissan X-Trail, any info would be much appreciated.

  FiL is looking at changing his 2006 Scenic diesel for a 2 year old Nissan Note diesel. He's had had lots of expensive problems with the Renault but am I right that the Nissan has the same engine given the strategic alliance between Renault and Nissan?
