  Cheapies included a 74k mile 98R Citroen Xantia Activa, sold for £850, a 64k mile 97P Fiesta 1.25LX 5-door on a fresh set of tyres, sold for £1,575, and a 43k mile 98R Vectra 1.8LS, sold for £1,700. A 62k mile 98S Peugeot 206 1.1 3-door with a big sunroof wasn’t cheap at all at £3,425, and a very early 53k mile 2000X X5 4.4 bid to £25,850, which is a bit more than the £24,700 a 68k mile 2001Y X5 4.4i bid to in Hall 1 two hours earlier.

  More auction news: there will be a special ‘Top Fleet; sale of 72 BMWs at Blackbushe on Wednesday 12th November, including desirable 320ds, 330ds, 530ds, M3s and a rare 98S Alpina B3. Peugeot has a special sale on Friday 14th November with 406s as far as the eye can see. And all this on top of the usual full programme. For example, this Friday 7th November Arriva has a silver 51 reg MINI Cooper in its 10.30am sale.

  Big and lumpy just isn't worth anything any more. Especially if it's a 92K Peugeot 605 3.0SVE automatic with 139,834 miles under its wheels. In a sale of part-exchanges at BCA Blackbushe today, bidding for the car in the photo opened at £200 and ended at £375. A 134,546 mile 94M didn't do much better.

  To my mind, the only real cheapies were a 133,000 mile 96N Citroen Xantia 2.0iSX 16v which bid to a lowly £1,375, a 93,000 mile 96N Xantia 1.9LXTD which bid to £1,800 and a desirable but 91,000 mile 98R Peugeot 406 Pininfarina coupe with aircon which bid to £7,475.
