History checking organisations such as HPI, Experian, My Car Check, etc. cannot guarantee to identify finance taken out on a car if it has not been registered on the Finance Database or if it has been incorrectly registered. This is as frustrating for the chattel mortgage and 'logbook loan' providers as it is for thse who lose out as a result.

    The new Active High Beam technology offers automatic switching between high and low beam at the right moment. Tunnel Detection automatically turns on the headlights when the car enters a tunnel. All models fitted with an automatic gearbox will come with the new illuminated gearshift knob, recently introduced in the all-new Volvo V40. The gearshift knob is transparent and LED-illuminated from inside.

    In addition, the 787B will also take part in the Driver's Parade through the Le Mans city centre on Friday June 10. The Mazda 787B became the first and only Japanese car, and rotary-engine car to win the 24-Hours of Le Mans.  Jointly developed by Mazda and Mazdaspeed, the organisation that managed Mazda's racing programme, the 787B featured a chassis designed to meet Group C technical regulations and was powered by a four-rotor rotary engine that produced 700ps.

    A pair of rare Alvis classic cars, an equally rare Alvis engine and a ‘development’ MG X Power SV topped the popularity charts at Barons’ auction at Sandown Park on April 28th. The 1937 Cross & Ellis-bodied Speed 25 Open Tourer, one of only 39 ever built, is thought to be one of just five examples made for the Glasgow Police Service.

    It was a hectic day at BCA Blackbushe today. Top Car and Black Horse Finance in Hall 1; Fleet, Citroen and Lex in Hall 2; and dealer direct in Hall 3. So it took a fair bit of legwork to bring you this report. The 11k mile 02 reg SL500 hung to the left, so wasn’t quite the bargain the bald figure implies.
