The Throckmorton Challenge is a qualifying round of the 2013 HERO Cup in association with EFG International, the club’s annual championship. According to reports by Reuters, MG Rover’s accountants face a tribunal next week, which will be examining its role in the finances of the Phoenix Four during its tenure of the car company between 2000-2005. The tribunal will be assessing the accountancy firm’s advice to the directors, and whether it came into conflict with the best interests of MG Rover in the lead-up to its collapse in May 2005. -

Red Driving School To Offer Affordable Fully Comprehensive Insurance For Young Drivers 15 Oct 2012 (News)
Any driver who passes with Red (and is aged between 17 and 25 years ld), will be offered an 'out of sight' black box, which collects data on how the car is being driven. The box assesses individual driving styles and driver feedback is available via the ingenie mobile app and online. The range of parts in the new online shop currently totals some 35,000 items for classic BMW cars and motorcycles dating from 1960 to around 1990. Large, heavy spare parts, dangerous goods and materials, electronic components and yard goods are excluded from the range. For customers, the online Parts Shop will not only make the search for spare parts much easier, it will also facilitate the replacement process: when a component is purchased, a BMW partner is automatically recommended to help the customer restore his or her classic vehicle and to provide technical support. ABI proposals to reduce young driver deaths 24 Nov 2011 (News)
Douglas added: "The system will encourage new drivers to drive less aggressively and within the law, and benefit from reducing car insurance premiums. Aggressive drivers, on the other hand, will be penalised with higher premiums. Toyota's latest safety technology 2 Aug 2011 (News)
Pedestrian safety is being considered too, with a pop-up bonnet designed to reduce the risk of serious head injury should a car strike a pedestrian. The system works by increasing the distance between the bonnet and the engine, cushioning the impact of the pedestrian. Toyota is developing these technologies with research based on real crash data as well as in collaboration with hospitals and universities. -
