. A 1956 Triumph TR3a with hardtop and Minilight wheels made £23,350. An oddball, but attractive and practical 1981 Citroen H van reached the top end of its estimate scale at £8,750. And someone looking for a fun track-day car paid £12,750 for a 1999 Caterham 7 Superlight R that had failed its MoT on emissions. -
Earls Court Motor Show set to star at Goodwood Revival once again 24 Aug 2011 (News)
Expect to see gorgeous and influential models, such as the Jaguar E-type, Bentley Continental R-type, Citroen DS, plus various Maserati, Ferrari and Alfa-Romeo models. Goodwood’s historic links with Earls Court are strong. The famous London Earls Court exhibition site was built on land once owned by the Duke of Richmond; the Earl in the name referring to the Earl of March, from whom the present 10th Duke of Richmond, and his son Lord March, are directly descended. -

Otherwise of interest, a rare new shape 18k mile 2001/51 Ford Maverick 2.0 litre manual sold for £8,500, a 92k mile 96N Jaguar XJ6 3.2 Executive made £3,800 and a 91k mile 98S Citroen XM 2.0iSX manual estate sold for a surprisingly strong £1,225. Buy into the mileagy stuff and you could do even better. And a filthy 78,000 mile 96P Golf VR6 smelling of steam and head gasket problems sold for £5,950. On to the more sober stuff and the first Citroen C5 I've seen at auction was a 13,000 mile 2001Y LX HDI 110 in silver. It sold for £9,850. KIA has relaunched its Shuma 5-door hatchback as the new look Shuma II with a new interior and with prices from just £8,995 (the same as Citroen's current price for the Xsara 1.4LX with a/c). To my mind, bargains of the day were a repossessed but very smart 26,000 mile 98S Jaguar XJR8 Supercharged which sold for £23,500; and four 10,000 mile 2000V Citroen Xantia 1.8iLXs which sold for between £5,200 and £5,275.
