  The old Dutch manufacturer Spyker has been revived with a stunning new sports-car, the Spyker C8. It features an aluminium spaceframe chassis, 4,172cc Audi V8 developing 400bhp, manual 6 speed gearbox, 0-60 in just over 4 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph.   The 9k mile 06 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in the photo sold for £45,300, but another, 2006/56 with 19k miles, only bid to a provisional £41,800 (though may have sold post sale). Not everything was on the floor. A 9k mile 07 Audi A5 3.0TDI quattro Sport with surface scratches in the lacquer made a very strong £30,000. And a 41k mile 3 year old A6 Avant with the 3.0 V6 and quattro drivetrain, but ‘comfort’ 16” wheels was slightly over book at £16,200.

  The pretty Peugeot 306 convertible in all sorts of shades pf pink that didn’t sell on Wednesday sold today for just £1,500. A 2003/53 206CC went for £6,300. A 2003/52 reg SLK 230K sold for £8,950. An 03 reg Audi TT 225 roadster heard the hammer fall at £10,550. Among the tintops, a mega-mile 2000X Celica went for just £3,000. An 04 Rover 75 1.8T with satnav, 25k miles unwarranted and the Frankenstein facelift sold for £4,900.

Like a 94k mile 2001/51 Audi A4 B6 2.0SE Multitronic, sold for £6,450. A LHD 99V Audi TT 225 with about 70k miles, unwarranted, sold for £9,000. A 111k 2001/51 SEAT Leon TDI 110SE bid to £3,950. A 118k mile 2001/51 Jaguar X Type 2.5V6 auto bid to £7,100.

  Top bid for a 79k mile 2001Y Jaguar Sovereign 4.0 litre longwheelbase was just £10,900. While £7,850 was enough to buy an 77k mile 02 reg Audi A4 B6 1.8T. Ford was happy to take £7,000 for ex-rental 53 reg 2004 model Focus 1.6LXs with about 14k miles; £200 more for Zetecs; and around £8,000 for 53 reg 2004 model Mondeo 1.8 and 2.0LXs.

  £7,600 wasn’t enough for a freshly painted 31k mile 2001Y SEAT Leon 20VT Sport with CD Multiplayer. £17,100 was bang on the money for a 36k mile 2001Y Audi TT 225 roadster (which made the TT £10k more for what is really the same car underneath). A 2k mile 2004/53 Ford Street Ka Luxury bid to £9,550. And oddball of the day was a 115k independently imported Mazda MX3 V6 of indeterminate age that bid to £750, which was very strong for the state of the thing.

  Seems the season has finally caught up with the used car trade and there were plenty of good buys at Blackbushe today. Whether the new shape Audi A4 in the photo qualifies depends on your motives. I don’t have to tell you that £8,150 wasn’t a lot of money for a new shape 2001Y B6 2.0SE Multitronic. And it was remarkably unscathed for its 130,750 miles.
