  i have recently bought a 2003 renault kangoo van from a dealer. it has a factory fitted cd player which has annoyingly started skipping, i have tried cleaning it with a lense cleaner but it hasnt helped and it is not covered by the warrenty. i wouldn,t mind if i could just by a cheap replacement one but it has a dash monted display and steering column controls so would be a real pain to fit. any suggestions?

  My internet research has indicated abs module issues, but I was wondering if it could be a faulty pad wear sensor. Before I put it on a Renault diagonstics system or remove the wheels I thought I would ask here. Cheers

  I am looking for a car to replace our ageing XM diesel estate and have the chance to aquire a 2002 Laguna 2.2DCi estate fully loaded with sat nav and all the toys 50000miles full service history .It has just had new discs and tyres and is an ex lease car.What should I look out for ,I have taken it for a short test drive and everything seems to work as it should but not having had a Renault for many years I would apperciate any comments, Regards Andy

  Having read several threads on this web-site I have decided to half the oil and filter service interval of my Renault Scenic 1.9DCi. If anybody carried out an oil change on this make and model I would appreciate any feed-back on any tricky areas of the procedure. Is there a crush washer on the sump drain plug, and what size is it?

  Have a Y reg Espace, which has overnight travelled 44,000 miles The odometer was reading 55,0000 miles ish last night and on turn on this morning read 99,000 miles and the trip odometer read 2245miles (was zero'd two days ago after fuelling). Any ideas anyone as Renault are about as useful as a choclate fireguard. No other problems with display and the odometer and trip odometer seem to be functioning okay now, only 44,000 miles further than they should be. Any help most welcome.

  I have a 53reg Kangoo 1.5 dci fco7 engine 30k miles when pulling away from standstill on a steep incline it sends a vibration / judder through the vehicle whether in 1st gear or reverse. The problem seems worse when engine warm. vehicle drives well otherwise. Have taken it to renault dealer and no faults could be found on computer, and they were unable to replicate fault as there was not a steep enough incline in the area. Any thoughts would be appriciated.

  Renault are advertising their "minute" service, similar to Ford rapid fit etc. Phoned them today for a price of oil and filter change - was quoted £45! When I asked how they could justify such a price, they said that the oil alone (semi synthetic) was £30 !

  Hi, I have been advised after my cars service that it will shortly be needing a new exhaust, my question is how much is that likely to be for the part? It's a 1999 Renault Megane 1.6 Alize I have been very happy with the car I just need to know how much I need to be planning on spending - it sounds expensive!   Back in the 70s & 80s, I had a succession of Renault 12s of various models (7 in total). They were roomy, reliable, comfortable and cheap to run. None of them seemed to have much in the way of a rot problem. Where have they all gone? Has anyone seen one recently?

  Does anyone else have a renault with the (otherwise great) newish 1.6 16valve petrol thats lumpy at idle. It doesnt sound like its misfiring but the thing can be felt shaking through the whole car, and you can visibly see it move on its mountings with the bonnet open!

  I have an intermittent problem with my 1996 Renault 5, 1.4 (C3J engine with Electronic Ignition). When the car returns to idle the car nearly stalls, then the revs pickup automatically and everything is fine. This only occurs when the engine has been run for a few miles.
