Renault Scenic - Changing headlight bulb - stesan
Easiest way to change front lightbulb especially near side is to take it to Halfords, £18.99 for supply and fit. It took the Halford's guy 5 minutes !!

Quality of service varies from branch to branch. I took my old Honda Accord to one branch who said it could not be done as there was a problem with the wiring (after replacing bulbs and fuses). I then took it to a different branch who fixed it no problem.

Struggled with my Citroen C3's headlight bulb change. Next time went to Halfords. Much less stress, faster than doing it myself! Woman did the fitting: she said she did most of the headlight bulb work because her hands were smaller than the mens' and therefore she could do the bulb changing more easily in the confined spaces that manufacturers leave.

I bought a bike at Halfords-had problems with chain-they agreed chain was faulty and would replace it but could not do it immediately as bike mechanic was not in that day-went in following day and had to show school-leaver how to do it.

Took my car to Halfords for a number plate bulb renewal thinking they had the right tools.

They completely destroyed the screw head and told me that in the circumstances they would refund the fitting charge! And recommended I took the car to a garage!

So ended up a destroyed holder and failed bulb.

Give their HQ there due as they agreed for me to have the new holder fitted at the Main dealer.

Understand they now have a blacklist of cars not to touch!

Had my headlamp bulb fitted at another garage and they lost the retaining clip! New part had to be ordered and I got my garage to fit it!

Re the Modus, I too think I have heard of Halfords politely declining to change a bulb on those.
The whole bumper has to come off.
IIRC there was some guy on Youtube that had done the job several times and "got it down to" about 40 minutes (?)

Me too, naughty boy Hillman, what is it about Japanese ladies.

I can't be the only one who's taken one glance under a modern Renault bonnet then walked swiftly away shaking head and muttering oaths, but the same applies to many modern cars, which thankfully don't interest me one bit.

Amateur.... I can do it in 15 minutes tops. Not an easy job by any means but once you know the method it's not that difficult.
