What a contrast from the long sandy stretches and boulders the size of footballs across Northern Kenya. Finally, the Channel Tunnel trains were running late, so the Panda Pair had to endure another delay before arriving in the UK in Folkstone. But with a pain-free run through the rush hour to Marble Arch, Philip and Paul arrived at their destination right on schedule. -

The show contains all the unique elements that only a Santa Pod event can provide: namely the world-class dragstrip and associated track time and race classes. The track will be open for both Run What Ya Brung and the Jap Drag Series, so spectators and participants are equally well catered for. The Jap Drag Series will be on round 3 by the time the JapShow comes around, so the competition will be hotting up and drivers will really be getting to grips with their vehicles. -

Mazda announces scrappage savings of up to £5000 6 Sep 2017 (News)
Mazda has launched a scrappage scheme that offers savings of £5000 on any new sub 130g/km model to owners of cars registered before 31 December 2009. The scheme will run until 31 December 2017 and allows buyers to part-exchange their petrol or diesel models for a new Mazda. It can also be combined with conditional sale or PCP finance offers. All eligible part-exchanged cars will be scrapped and removed from the road.
Toyota scrappage scheme offers £4000 discounts 1 Sep 2017 (News)
Toyota is offering savings of up to £4000 on their range of petrol and petrol-hybrid vehicles. The scrappage scheme runs from 1 September 2017 to 31 December 2017 and is open to any vehicle more than seven years old. The vehicle must be registered to the current owner for at least six months to be eligible.

Despite such a limited run, Ford invested in a TV ad to announce the Harrier and celebrate the fact that the Escort had recently clinched the ’79 World Rally Championship. As footage of all-action rallying Escorts filled the screen, the Escort Harrier was suddenly revealed: 'This is the Ford Escort we built to celebrate,' announced the dramatic-sounding voiceover.
