    The additional data also reveal that on average, new cars bought under the scheme have CO2 emissions that are 25% lower than the cars scrapped. The average CO2 figure for scrapped cars is estimated to be at least 179 g/km, compared to a much lower 133.9 g/km emissions average for cars bought through the scheme.

    With the scrappage scheme now into its third month, customers purchasing a Swift, Grand Vitara, SX4 or Splash, can use their 10 year old “banger” towards the deposit on their new car and still benefit from 0% APR. A new Swift GLX 3 door is available for £192 per month, payable over three years. Suzuki has seen early success with the scrappage scheme and the continuation of the summer offers looks set to see this continue with over 3,500 orders taken to date and more than 1,500 already delivered to customers.

    We don’t know if that’s really something we’d want to boast about, but it does look very original. There are three former keepers on the logbook and the car has an MoT certificate until 7 May. The seller assures us it’s a lovely car, 'I bought it from an elderly Welsh gentleman just over a year ago.' In that time, it’s needed some welding, as well as two new front tyres and a new radiator.
