Landmark Jaguar E-type heads to auction 2 May 2018 (News)
A landmark Jaguar E-type is heading to auction. The car is the 100th right-hand drive E-type fixed-head coupé off the line and could fetch between £80,000 and £100,000. It goes under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions’ sale on 19 May. This particular right-hand drive E-type was first purchased on 21 December, 1961, from RB Massey in Hull. -

A bumper entry of more than 450 horseless carriages will leave Hyde Park as dawn breaks on Sunday to tackle the 60-mile drive from capital to coast. The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, which dates back to 1927, was founded to commemorate the Emancipation Run of 1896. This celebrated the repeal of the Red Flag Act, which raised the speed limit to 14mph and ended the requirement for a man waving a red flag to walk in front of the vehicle. -

Recent changes to the Greener Vehicle Discount now mean that new generation smart cdi and mhd (micro hybrid drive) models will be exempt from the London Congestion Charge. As of 4 th January 2011, all vehicles that emit 100g/km or less of CO 2 and that meet the Euro 5 standard for air quality will qualify for a 100 per cent discount from the Congestion Charge. -

Ferrari 330 GT for sale at Race Retro 31 Jan 2018 (News)
A 1965 Ferrari 330 GT is going under the hammer. The 2+2 Series 1 car is one of 44 UK right-hand drive examples. It will be sold at Silverstone Auctions Race Retro classic car sale next month. When it was launched in 1964, the 330 GT 2+2 was the fastest road-going Ferrari, thanks largely to its 300bhp V12 engine that propelled the car from standstill to 62mph in 6.3 seconds. -
VIDEO: Dash cam footage shows taxi driver's escape after 75mph crash 1 Feb 2017 (News)
The video was used in evidence at Liverpool Crown Court in January where teenager Sean Grindle admitted dangerous driving and driving without a licence and without insurance. The court heard police officers spotted the Toyota in Liverpool at around 1am on 18 June 2016. Trying to avoid capture, Grindle overtook another car, drove the wrong way down a one way street and crossed a give-way junction without slowing. The taxi's VisionTrack VT2000 camera captured the moment the teenager's Toyota RAV4 loses control after hitting another car. -
Foreign language driving tests end 7 Apr 2014 (News)
The Driving Standards Agency has announced that foreign language theory tests will no longer be available from 7 April 2014 and that interpreters will no longer be available for practical or theory tests. Patrick McLoughlin, Secretary of State for Transport, said: “We want to make sure that all drivers have the right skills to use our roads safely and responsibly.
