  No measuring yet, just that while driving the usual way, the fuel needle moves more slowly. What surprised me is that with plain Shell V-power (98 octane unleaded) my Clio was more responsive than with BP Ultimate! But then again, maybe it was just a feeling... Great economy with Shell V-power too. Vagelis.

  Re V-Power vs BP Ultimate: I use Super Unleaded in my 2004 Jazz (to prolong the life of the engine) and got no better MPG with V-Power - and some instances worse - than running on supermarket unleaded. By contrast BP Ultimate gives me 20-50 miles more per tank.

  The local BP station is changing to Shell, I used to find Shell and Texaco diesel better than most though have mainly been using BP Ultimate for some while now due to the convenience of the local filling station. Shell V-Power diesel is not nationally available though perhaps they will sell Shell Diesel Extra, which one is the equivilent of Ultimate these days? Perhaps I should go back to standard diesel + Millers?

  I've used the odd tank of premium diesel for years but since the VW scandel I've used more of it and for the last few months nothing but V Power+Nitro diesel. Over time a couple of things have changed. Firstly my DPF is not doing any active regenerations, none in 2500 miles, this is my third DPF car so I know the symptoms. My driving has not change and most of the miles were in cold weather when its usually at its worst.

  my 2005 ford focus 1.6 tdci as developed a power loss problem. it will be driving ok then all of a sudden it just as no power, as though there is a blockage in the fuel line. its only for a couple of seconds, it loses power, growls a little and gives out a puff of smoke and then its fine again for a few moments then it does it again. its generally ok at higher speeds. its just been serviced, all the filters done, fuel filter changed twice just in case that was the problem, and i always use shell v-power diesel or similar. please help.

  I purchased a new Peugeot 2008 1.2 130 (petrol engine) this year and after around 1000 miles it started to hesitate between 1750 rpm and 2250 rpm when accelerating with throttle foot pressed down at least 1/2 way. Either side of 1750 to 2250 rpm there is no hesitation. I've used Shell V-power petrol since new. I took it to the Peugeot garage and was told is needed a decoke. How is this possible with such a new car and engine and when using Shell V-power ? Has anyone else encountered this problem before and if so what action was taken to rectify it ?

  hi my mate has a peugot 406 hdi turbo diesel about 100k miles, v reg. he has had a loss off power for the last few months as if the turbo is not working at low revs? I have heard that the esr valve can get coked up on some deisel turbo's and cause this, does anyone have any idea's ?
