have I damaged my fuel pump? 23 Dec 2005 (Forum)
The car in question is a '95 diesel fiesta and does'nt have a fuel priming bulb like my previous peugeot and citroen diesels. I know that a diesel pump is lubricated by the diesel inside and should'nt be run dry, but could I have done any damage? -
306 wipers not parking 4 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I have a question from a work colleague who?s not on the ?net. His Peugeot 306 wipers do not ?park? when switched off (they just stop where they are at the time) He was advised to try another wiper motor, and has tried three separate motors off the shelf from a local breakers yard ? -
Anyone for a big gold slug? 22 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Hello all Well, I fancy a change after months of dull but worthy Peugeot dieselling, and I actually fancy a Mercedes. Not a new one, but something like: http://tinyurl.com/8jm5f What do you think? It's nothing like anything I've ever had before, and part of me would rather like it. -
Was I beeing too fussy? Oil Overfill 6 Jul 2005 (Forum)
My 1600cc Peugeot 206 Hdi car came back from an annual service yesterday and, when I checked the oil, I found that it was about 1/2 a litre overfilled on a 4.25 litre fill up. Thinking/knowing that overfilling a diesel can cause problems I rang the garage and they said that that much over filled wouldn't matter. -
Scrapyards 20 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Finally, seems to me the car most likely to be scrapped due to accident damage (and frequently in some style) is a lightly modded Peugeot 106. -
Best used diesel under £3k? 15 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I've just been told by the garage that I woul dbe better off cutting my losses and getting rid of my Peugeot 306 xrdt (96/N) as otherwise I will have to keep throwing money at it with all the problems it has and will develop in the next 6 months. I would like to get something about the same size or a bit bigger, preferably a turbo diesel or HDI. -
New Panda? It'll only cost you 8 seconds 20 Dec 2004 (Forum)
s security was the easiest to overcome and resisted for just eight seconds. Just four cars passed the break-in tests ? the BMW 525i SE, Lexus RX300 SE-L, Peugeot 407 SE and the BMW X3 SE. www.whatcar.com/News_Article.asp?NA_ID=212739 {Link is deliberately non-clickable. If you want to see the report, you'll have to copy/paste it into your url address bar. -
Parking Motor Home on Driveway 16 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Hi, After an interpretation on a restrictive covenant . . hope there's a legal eagle out there who may be able to help. Have a Peugeot Avant Garde motor home on order for next year. Have had a few 'comments' from our neighbours regarding restrictive covenants. The offending section is contained in the Convenyance document between the original builders and the first owners, although I guess they also apply to me . .. ? -
European Car of the year 14 Sep 2004 (Forum)
The list of contending cars for next years "European car of the year" have been released: Alfa Romeo GT Audi A6 BMW 1-Serie BMW 6-Serie BMW X3 Chrysler 300 C Citroën C4 Fiat Idea/Lancia Musa Ford Focus Honda FR-V Hyundai Tucson Kia Cerato Kia Picanto Kia Sportage Land Rover Discovery 3 Mercedes A-klasse Mercedes CLS Mercedes SLK Mitsubishi Colt Mitsubishi Grandis Opel Astra Opel Tigra TwinTop Porsche 911 Peugeot 407 Renault Modus Seat Altea Skoda Octavia smart forfour Toyota Corolla Verso Toyota Prius Volkswagen Caddy Combi So which cars will be in the running ? My guess is that the Renault Modus or Focus will win. -
Car Magazine Losing it ? 2 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Despite the above I was enjoying a detailed read last night and had to do a double take according to its article on the forthcoming Peugeot 1007 - this new megabeast has a 0-60 of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 253 mph, all out of a 1.0litre Diesel (albeit HDi). What else do they get wrong if this sneaks past its editors....? -
French bred 3 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Perhaps Renault made their cars simpler then and, QED, they were more reliable? Oh (and this hurts) an interesting footnote: was in a Peugeot main dealer with a relative, and noticed the hourly labour rate displayed - 27 Euros (£18ish) an hour. -
Alloy wheels - locking nuts - 306 18 May 2004 (Forum)
I've just acquired a second-hand Peugeot 306 Meridian HDi. The dealer who sold me the car did not have the tool to remove the locking nuts on the alloys, though he's offered to get me a new set. Apparently there are ways of getting the wheels off even with the locking nuts in place. -
406 dash warning lights 27 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Guy at work has just bought a V reg Peugeot 406, very pleased with it but has a couple of problems that has him scratching his head. When he turns his ignition switch on, his dashboard warning lights do not light until the car starts, then they go out. -
paintwork and road grit 15 Nov 2003 (Forum)
With the winter salt + sand season approaching, can anyone reasure me about a phenomena I noticed last year on my 1999 peugeot boxer based camper van - at the end of the winter, the white paintwork was speckled with tiny "rust" spots - so tiny you had to gt on your hands and knees to see them. They covered the area from the mid door downwards, and I'm guessing they are the result of ferrous bits + bobs either in the grit or in the general road spray. -
Fried Batteries 18 Sep 2003 (Forum)
My wife's Peugeot 106 had a new battery fitted in March but found it flat three times recently. In each case, the Europ Assiatnce man attending jump started the car and said the fault was down to hot weather and that there had been a lot of calls for this reason. -
A real specialist ! 1 Jun 2003 (Forum)
The garage concerned has an advert in our local rag boldy boasting: "Ultimate Sales & Service" Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Peugeot, Renault, Rover, MG, Vauxhall, VW, Fiat, Alfa Romeo Citroen & Volvo... SPECIALISTS. It's nice to know her car's being dealt with by people who specialise in so few marques and hence really know the vehicles inside out. -
Thermostat gone, where is it? peugeot306 25 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I have seen pictures of where it is on other cars but none of them look the same as mine. Does anyone know of any links that show what is what under a 93 peugeot 306. Or if someone could scan a pic from a haynes manual and e-mail it to me I would be grateful. richiwatts@hotmail.com Many thanks Richi -
Where's the progress? 26 Feb 2003 (Forum)
The lady of the house wants a second hand small diesel. Easy I thought, back in the late 1980's we had a Peugeot 205 diesel which did many miles reliably averaging 55mpg. It was fast and quiet, cheap to service and was reliable because it had no electronics. It was a bit flimsy but otherwise great. A logical replacement would be a 206. -
