    The 50th anniversary of the Mini-Cooper's first of three victories on the Monte Carlo Rally will celebrated at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed on 27-29 June. Paddy Hopkirk will drive a Mini Cooper S up the Goodwood hill, evoking memories of his heroic performance on the mountain stages of Southern France in 1964. The 1964 Monte Carlo Rally featured crews starting from a variety of European cities, such as Oslo, Paris and Glasgow and descending on the Principality after a mammoth three-day drive of over 1400 miles.

  • Manufacturer launches software to promote greener driving 10 Oct 2008 (News)
    Eco:drive is free to download from Fiat's website and the company says that drivers "can expect improve their driving efficiency [with] a 15 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions and in fuel costs". The launch of the software comes at the same time as the car-maker recorded its best monthly sales result in the UK since September 2004.

  • Older Cars Banned From Large Parts of France 6 Aug 2018 (News)
    .  Five French tourist areas have banned  driving older vehicles due to poor air quality: Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, Annecy and Isère (Alpine region, Grenoble). In these zones, cars without the Crit'Air badge and those with Crit'Air Class 5 and in some cases Class 4 are no longer allowed to drive. In the case of Isère, the whole department with its highways (A7 and A41 to 47) is affected.
