• Renault Clio 1.2 petrol 16v 2002 - When turning the wheel left there this noise. 11 Sep 2013 (Forum)
  My daughter has just bought a Renault Clio 1.2 petrol 2002. When she started driving and tiring the wheel there was this noise so we took it to a Machanic and he put links on the tires the noise was still there. Then took it to another Machanic and he said the driver side shaft had gone so he fixed it.
• Renault Clio Sport - How long should a gearbox last 31 May 2013 (Forum)
  The gearbox struggles to go into 4th gear and the garage inform me that I need a new gearbox as the synchro is broken. I expected the gearbox to last longer than this and have told that to Renault UK. They have told me that as a goodwill gesture they will pay £486 inc VAT to have the gearbox removed and inspected but as it is defective they will be unable to refit it. If as I expect there is a defect with the gearbox then as another goodwill gesture they will pay 50% of the £2806 cost of replacing the gearbox with a reconditioned one.

  After doing some research, I thought maybe a Vauxhall Zafira would be suitable? I'm going to view one this afternoon, the garage also has a Renault Grand Scenic, with similar spec for same price? Which would most people recommend of the two? Any other advice is hugely appreciated! Thanks :)

  An excellent local independent diesel specialist could not find code but did otherwise confirm injector pressures etc were all OK. I have not taken car to local Renault dealer as I have no confidence they will find actual fault. Done 153,000 mls. Any ideas as to how I find fault? I did run very low on fuel once and hence changed filter in case debris sucked into lines but no difference.

  Also the car doesnt run in neutral as smoothly as it did , the revs increasing and decreasing and with more vibrations than normal. . The car was serviced at renault 2 months ago (400 quid!!!!) but every time i take it there, it seems to experience more problems, You would not believe the number of problems we have had with this car in just 4 years! I dont know what the reno service is like in the UK but here in Mexico it is pretty awful!

  I recently purchased (used) a Dec 2010 Renault Clio Sport Tourer diesel. I notice that after filling with fuel, there is a drip of fuel from under the bodywork behind the rear wheel arch.

  hi, can anyone suggest a reason for this problem ive recently bought a 2005 renault megane petrol ,the car has covered just 35000 miles. when the car first starts the camshaft appears to knock for a few seconds before running smoothly and quiet .The engine management light comes on and stays on.

  I have a 2002 Renault Scenic 1.9 DCI with 70k The electronic fault warning light (also heater plug on light) intermitently comes on with no apparent problem. It always seems to come on when driving up an incline then goes off after the top is reached or it comes on when you throttle then goes off when you release the throttle.

  Also the fuel economy has gone to pot, it was doing 60 ish to the gallon and now it's only doing 45 ish to the gallon. Any ideas would be great. Don't want to take it to renault as it will no doubt cost a fortune and I've already spent a lot of money on it.

  Hi, My Renault 2.2DCi started smoking excessively as well as having a lack of power. Coupled to that each time you out your foot down hard the Injection system light would come on, if you turned the engine off took out the card it would reset itself ??

  Dear All, recently I put too much oil in the engine of my Renault Master 1996, 2.5 diesel minibus (110,000 miles). At the MOT check when at high revs the van started chucking out black smoke, when the tester turned off the ignition, the engine still ran. Looks like oil got sucked up into the fuel system.

  Hi there, I have an L Reg Renault Clio Oasis, which has recently developed a problem starting from cold. The engine turns over fine, but it just won't start. In order to get it to eventually start, I have to keep the key turned and put my foot flat on the accelerator.

  Dealer has tken a look and there is a fault in the panel which means the whole dash needs replacing at a cost of £466. the car is just under 4 years old with 72K on clock. I moaned a bit and got a call from renault customer service offring to pay 25%. Interesting he admitted its not a wear and tear item but then said it was only 25% because of the mileage. Should I just accept the 35% or could I get more (I really feel like taking them to small calims court under sales of goods act).

  Today an RAC man told her that the car had a Toad aftermarket remote/alarm on top of its own immobiliser; that Toad alarms are 'a nightmare'; that when anything goes wrong with them they arm the factory immobiliser; and that the latter takes 'three computers' to reset and can only be dealt with by Renault who will charge £300. Apart from confirming my view that remote key fobs containing a battery are stupid fussy unnecessary things guaranteed to be a PITA sooner or later, these events have immobilised my daughter.

  I've had my 2005, 55 , Renault Espace for 9 months or so. I cycle to work, so it seldom gets used apart from @ holidays and if we go out in at the weekends. These last few weeks been cold & icy so not been out in it much at all.

  Hi all, Mileage at present 82000 I have renault laguna 1.9 DCI the car keep going into Limp mode when driving. Both the glow plugs light and the engine management light come on together and the cars goes into limp mode. If i stop and start the engine it goes out and is ok again for a while.

  If it was an older Ford I would instantly start looking at the EVAP valve, lamdba sensor or cat but I don't know anything about modern Renaults. Is there any onscreen diagnostics I can access to try and get a specific fault code? The car seems to be running ok so I am suspecting something simple like a Lamdba sensor but we all know a dealer would charge silly money for this

  I have to check the car on way to work and way home from work to make sure that it is locked (more often than not it is open and I have to manually lock the door) The central locking works manually - so if I lock the drivers door the other doors lock but I am not sure if the problem is because someone else in my street has the same code, but it has happened elsewhere so I assume the central locking is broken and just unlocks at random What can I do!? Also I need another key - can I only get this from a Renault dealer and I assume this will be expensive? Car only cheap!

  (No problem) However the digital odometer and trip computer will now only indicate metric units, so my 110,000 mile car now has 177,000km, my economy is measured in litres per hundred km etc. Does anyone know if it can be reset without resort to a Renault dealer ? Also I have noticed that the rev counter is now reading high. Before at 70mph it would show less than 3000 rpm, now it shows nearer to 4000. I know it's the rev counter that's faulty as before the car would only reluctantly accelerate to the red line, now you can take it to the end of the clock and still be accelerating.

  Unfortunately on purchase the sat-nav disc was missing and i thought it would be an easy task to buy one to go in the car. However, having been firstly to a local main dealer and then to Renault UK themselves i'm still waiting for a reply on the correct disc of the many available. With any of the discs they've supplied i get an error message of "disc read eror- insert original map dvd rom".
