  • Renault Clio II (1998 - 2001) - 01 1.1 Mileage Discrepancy... 15 May 2008 (Forum)
i recently bought a renault clio 1.1 2001 Y plate recorded as a cat c insurance loss. damage is very minor cosmetic, so minor it passed an mot today unrepaired. it has two previous owners and shows 21000 on the clock. it came from the insurance company with no papers ie service history, logbook as i need a VIC inspection to get it back on the road. after doing an MOT history check on the VOSA website, i discovered one of the MOT's in 2004 recorded the mileage as 98,000 and the following year 19,000. im a bit thrown by this as the car looks and drives like its done 21000. it even still has the original michelins from 2001 all with decent tread, spare unused, hardly any wear and tear on interior.
  • Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 2004 1.2 - Headrest / Seatbelt Probs 26 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Does anyone know what the techincal name for this part is? Would it matter if I didn't buy an official renault part? Theyhave also quoted an hour and a half labour to fix it. Does this seem reasonable? 2. Back seat seatbelt. One of the 'female' parts to the seatnelt has stopped clicking shut. I've hoovered it as much as I can and sprayed a bit of WD40 in to see if that helps clean out whatever was causing the problem but to no avil.
  • Renault Laguna (1994 - 2001) - 98 1.8 petrol poor running 22 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Having just had a full service and passed it's MoT, my 98 Renault Laguna 1800 RN petrol has developed an engine problem. When turning the ignition the engine turns over but does not start unless I press the accelerator and even the it takes a few seconds to catch properly.
  • Renault - Cat C - Reclaim salvage and finance house issues. 18 Aug 2007 (Forum)
My insurance co wanted to write off my 5 yr Renault Megane, the settlement they offered us was not enough, we would have been left with nothing due to outstanding finance, we choose to go down the road of reclaim salvage, we felt damage was not enough to totalled, water damage to gear box, we were told 18% would be deducted from our settlement. we were told this by 3 different people in insurance company, a week after our car had been put in garage to be repaired by insurance payout, we were informed that the insurance company were going to pay our finance company, without informing us. luckily through a lot of sweat and pleading we persuaded the finance company to let us keep settlement as long as we continued to pay finance. has anyone been in a similar situation or done a reclaim salvage themselves.
  • Renault Megane Saloon wind noise 4 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Just over a week ago I picked up a Renault Megane Saloon 1.9 dci Privalege from a car supermarket. Seems like a very nice car apart apparently very good condition 15k miles on the clock, good spec etc apart from the WIND NOISE! Above 60 mph this gets very loud particularly on the drivers side (regardless of wind direction) which makes me think the problem is not just down to the cars design.
  • Scenic 2 fails to start every June 11 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Once again filled up with petrol and could not start the thing,Engine turns and turns but no sign of a firing.then after several goes it catches but no power unable to limp off forcourt, finally can pick up enough revs to get going-runs lumpy for several miles or just before I can get it back to a Renault dealer. It then runs fine no fault found says Renault dealer. This has now happened 3 times since new, and the strange thing is it happens every June almost to the day . The embarrasing thing is that having electric handbrake cannot dissengage until engine is running, so stuck adjacent to petrol pump till it runs.Could of course unload boot and dissengage from there ,but then needs a Renault dealer to fix handbrake.

  • Renault Scenic 29 Oct 2004 (Forum)
I then insisted on driving another one which did exactly the same thing I have been driving for 35 years, I have 2 other modern cars (a Honda Civic and a Mazda MX5 ) neither of which have any such problem The garage will take no further interest saying that that's the way it is Where can I go from here? Renault UK simply send me back to the dealer There is clearly a design fault with this model The garage of course as always say that no one has ever complained before Has anyone else out there got a New Scenic 1600 manual with a similar problem?
  • Renault Espace 22 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Hi. I have a '96 Renault Espace 2.0 petrol injection. A few weeks ago the car suffered a massive electrical failure which has been traced to an alternator over charge of the battery. Most lights that were on at the time blew plus a few fuses.

  • Cold start problems on Laguna 2-litre 1 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Has anyone got any bright ideas what the problem might be, as the dealer seems to be totally useless - they can't even be bothered to ring Renault UK for advice. Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good Renault specialist (or even a decent dealer) in the Portsmouth area.

  • Nissan X-Trail - Nissan Sunderland - The future 6 Feb 2019 (Forum)
With the Nissan Board reported as wishing to take back some control of future models the decision to manufacture in Japan seems sensible. This will ensure the return to Japanese standards of quality as opposed to those of Renault upon which many of their UK products are based. But the media have taken the opportunity to blame Brexit. I read somewhere that The French Government AKA Renault have been keen to return more Nissan production to spare capacity in mainland Europe.
