No BMW guarantee but they give a 1 year warrantee and you can purchase a further two years for a sum. What?s the downside you seem to get a great speck car for a big saving however even in retirement I will do about 20K miles a year so I need to know it will not let me down. -

Hi, Its been 9 months now since i own this 2005 BMW 320 CD. 74K Genunine Milage...perfect drive...excellent handling..in short its fun to drive... The only thing I am not happy about is the clutch paddle!!...its heavy.....fews days back I drove a 54 Plate Passat 1.9 TDI... 6 speed manual...also drove an Audi A4..2.0 TDI with 6 Speed manual transmission...if I compare these VW clutches with my BMW....they are very soft and smooth...I even got my car Inspected by BMW dealership in Surrey and they said that 'working' of my clutch is fine...i never said that i have some issues with the working of the clutch..it works fine....gears are engaging fine...no vibration but the paddle is HEAVY!... -

I have proof that Mercedes have now fixed their problems and I have also seen that BMW have fixed their problems with the 5 series. I have read that although very economical, the base 520 D BMW needs to be reved hard pulling away from traffic lights etc ( gearing may be too high)?I would definitely go for automatic with Mercedes. -

I have had to replace the ECU on my 1998 bmw 523, problem is the ecu is coded to the EWS system, can I recode it my self at all? If not can it be done on a normal diagnostic or is it a specialist job? Thanks {corrected typo in header} -

Can anyone advise on the technique for removing the original BMW 'Business' radio/cassette from an E36 3 Series? The radio has a little flap on each side covering what I guess are the removal clips, but after fiddling round for a while I can't see what I need to do with them to release the radio. -

I have recently been quoted £750 to repair the air con on my BMW 523 se auto. The refrigerant gas has leaked out from the expansion valve which is aparently situted behind the dashboard. This seems rather expensive !! Has anyone any experience of this and does it seem reasonable or should I get a second opinion from an indepenant specialist? -
