95 1800 metric tyres - Harry Pearce
Hi i ahve 4 metric tyres fitted to my bmw due to the cost of the tyres was thinking switching to normal tyres but not sure what size to buy. Do I need new alloys as well tyre size is 230/55ZR390

please help thanks

You require new rims. Check with Mytyres as they are actually based in Germany and source there metric and performance tyres there. Regards Peter

Yes, you need new wheels, not only do the metric sizes fall between the inch sizes, it is actually designed that way on purpose. The idea of a metric tyre is not the metric, but the way the tyre mounts on the rim, the metric sizing was to prevent people mixing this type of mounting with the ordinary type.

Try and get a set of 15" wheels off ebay.

Thanks for this can i just by a set of 15 in from halfords or do they need to be bmw
