ZE 1997 - BMW Z3 Electrics - strickjumpers

Helo everyone,

I have a chance to purchase a 1997 BMW Z3, looks great, red sitting on lovely fresh alloys, but electrics are a mess, electric windows etc don't work, is there a central control unit or is it just individual failures? if it is a black box, anyone any idea of how much we are talking, the car is going for about £1500.

The electric windows and central locking system are controlled by a central convenience module loacted behind the glovebox.These are pretty reliable but if the unit does turn out to be faulty,then a s/hand unit could be used from a 3-series E36 model,as a new one is around £250.hth
