00 3.0 hissing noise under the inlet manifold. - frosty
hi

i have a bmw 2000 330i manual

i have a hissing noise under the inlet manifold,somewhere in the front of the car, the idling of the car fluctuates aswell and there is loss of power

can anyone help

On the E36 6 cylinder models the rubber air trunking from the air mass meter to the throttle body used to split.

I would suspect you have a problem with the oil seperator/crank ventilation valve.It is located just under the inlet manifold,behind the alternator and looks like an ice cream cone .(black plastic)hth

hi

yes i had a look under the manifold and i did see oil coming out of that valve,could that be causing the idle and hissing noise,i had a look lastnite and the the ehaust gas emission light came on.

is this a serios problem
