  Help appreciate here.. As a treat (2nd car for fun purposes) I bought a Nissan 200SX Turbo (S14A touring for those who know these cars). Unfortunately only 2 weeks after getting it, I lost grip on some slimy mud left on the road by travellers exiting a field, and erm... crashed it.

  The things that would attract me to the Corolla are that it is roomier inside (particularly in the back seats), and also rather quieter (which is nice), plus that it has buttons for its heater/radio controls rather than the Nissan's overly complex screen-driven system ... but the Corolla doesn't sound as reliable as the Almera, though still better than average. So I'm wondering if it's really worth spending an extra thousand on a car with more miles on the clock?

  I am in London but can travel if find a good bargain. I was also looking at japanese cars like Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Yaris, Avensis, Nissan Almera. Skoda fabia and the VW Polo.. and these would be quite good as well. I need the car for the weekends only and I wount use it for commuting. Any suggestions!!! Many thanks for looking in.

  I want leather,auto,climate and I would like 30mpg average, the 850 did 32 average as I do a lot of m/way work in my 25k miles a year, also I'd like it to last at least 3 years. it's not an easy choice as so much is in my price range, on my short list is S70T5,S40T4,S402.0T,Omega2.5 The advice here seems good so can anyone give any other suggestions, can cars like the Nissan QX, Lexus GS300 achieve 30mpg ? Thanks in advance :)

  Do I spend 14-16k on: 1999-2000 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro, solid, goes like a rocket 2000 - 2001 Jaguar S-type, nicer inside (to me), bit more staid As new as possible Nissan Primera T-spec As new as possible Honda Accord Executive Wait til Lexus LS430 is in price bracket (about six months now) Some kind of Merc about which I know nothing but there seem to be a few S-class about at that money.

  Also - are most auto-electricians well placed to investigate this kind of thing, or do I need dedicated Nissan diagnostic kit and hence the main dealer? Many thanks PS I've seen earlier posts on this, so I suspect there is a common fault with Primeras.

  Nissan Micra 1.0 N reg (K11 type) * Where is the engine temp sensor located? The temperature gauge on the dashboard takes about 8 miles on the motorway to get into the "Warmed Up" region. Even then, it jumps suddenly from cold to "warmed up".

  Other than looking the car and its details over is there anyway to gleen more info about it? At BCA blackbushe there are lots of named sales (Nissan Finance, Black Horse finance and so on) do these give any indication of car origin and potential quality? Would something like the BCA approved lots be a good bet? Also the last time I stopped over on the way to work I noticed alot of 'bangers' grouped in an inchcape sale.

  Someone called the Police, he was breath tested (not had a drink) and was allowed on his way. There was no damage to the wife's Focus but apparently some damage to the woman's old Nissan he'd hit. I went to view it next day. It was an old banger and not worth repairing. She was claiming whiplash. I heard nothing for weeks until a "blame & claim" solicitor's letter dropped through the door saying she was claiming whiplash.

  I read up on this on HJs Car by Car breakdown and I was disappointed. Friends say go for the CR-V or RAV 4. I see that Ford now do a new Terrano (Nissan built?) Just when I thought that I could not possibly be faced with more choice I am confronted by the Kia version (they boast that their Focused sized car is half the price of the Focus). Does anyone know of any more small 4 x 4s?

  While I realise the program needs to be entertaining and no one is going to watch endless articles on road safety and diesel estate cars, it would just be good to have more interesting and well researched content. Driven recently featured two aged Nissans pushing one another out of a circle. It really makes you look forward to the next edition that one! Top Gear has also been pretty dire at times in the recent past. I have nothing against Jeremy Clarkson he has an obvious and genuine enthusiasm for cars.

  Thinking of chopping it in for Mazda 323f as I love these (thanks to those who already replied on that one!) or Nissan Primera, or Audi 80 - whatever I will not be buying another Citroen. Limited budget so what do you reckon - keep the ZX going or go for German/Japanese?

  Nissan Bluebird ZX Turbo - Utterly drab to drive. Numb steering, bouncy ride and felt nothing like the 135bhp it supposedly had. The cheaper 2.0i was a better car. Nissan 300ZX Z31- A wobbling Blancmange of a car.

• Pinking Primera 29 Jan 2004 (Forum)
  Despite these modifications the vehicle is still pinking. The pinking was worse during the hot summer, but it is still doing it in the winter. Nissan Technical support have said to the dealer they don't know what the prolem is, and would love to know when the dealer finds out ! The dealer wants to take off the cylinder head as he thinks there might be a "hot-spot" somewhere causing the pre-ignition.

  SWMBO is expecting a wee late surprise and has now dictated that my elderly Toyota Avensis estate (which she’s never liked) has got to go. She has a Nissan Leaf for daily commuting and local running but we need a second car that is capable of taking us further afield when required, something the Leaf isn’t any use at thanks to our woeful public charging network and EV’s dislike of the Scottish winter weather - which causes the range to plummet.

  Also the entertain/control system isn't great. The price Renault Captur is attractive. I took at the KIA Niro today too. Maybe a Nissan Qushqai or a Peugoet 3008? Renault Kadjar? But I need advice. Can you guys advise?
