Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.5 diesel ECU needs recalibrating? 13 Nov 2009 (Forum)
When she turned the key in the ignition the noises stopped, but started again as soon as she took the key out. Rang a local mechanic and he told me that the ECU needs to be recalibrated. Just wondering if this is common, and also is it expensive to fix? -
Peugeot 607 (2000 - ) - 00 2.2Hdi Second hand ECU Recode? 6 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Does anybody know if it is possible to recode a second hand ECU for a Peugeot 607 2.2HDi, I know when they are new they have to be coded to the car, does anyone know is this can this be redone on a second hand unit or is it one of those things that once done can't be changed? -
Vauxhall - Vivaro - 03 1.9 - ECU light keeps coming on 4 May 2008 (Forum)
The light stayed out for 24 hours, but the following day came back on again. The van is running very rough and using alot of diesel. The garage then replaced the ECU and pressure sensor, but this did not fix it either. Please can anyone give me any ideas what the problem may be. The garage have given up. {subject header made less vague} -
Rover 75 Diesel 51 plate - ECU problems 17 Nov 2006 (Forum)
my 75 turned over but rfused to start. The ECU has flooded with rain water, as it happens, but the message coming back from the diagnostic analysis read along the lines of 'Fault Code not recognised' so the auto electrician cannot assure me that this is the sole problem. -
1999 Astra G - no ECU code! Help.... 23 Jun 2006 (Forum)
It´s a ´99 1.8 CDX Astra Estate. As far as I could understand the nice German mechanic, his machine required the ECU code unique to the car before he could ´get in´ to the system and start checking stuff. This apparently comes on a card...which I don´t have in the car document wallet. Grrr. Now, is there a ´default´ code that will bypass this problem, like a master key, and get into the system? -
Astra V High idle speed and ECU light 17 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Now when starting the car it has a very high idle speed and the engine mangement light comes on after a count of 5. I analysed the ecu 'blink codes' and it came out as 21 which I believe is a problem with the throttle position sensor. I tried disconnecting the sensor but still very high idle speed. Can anyone give me a pointer as to what I can try next? -
Rover 216 ECU Fault Codes 13 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone know of a web site where I can trace the fault code for my rover 216? The "Check Engine" light keeps coming on, and the LED flashes 9 times... -
MG MG ZT (2001 - 2005) - Can having inlet manifold replaced wreck the ecu? 5 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I took my MG ZT into the local dealer to have the inlet manifold replaced the car was working perfectly apart from a noise which they told me was the flaps in the inlet manifold hence the need for it to be replaced. The garage then informed me that the ecu unit had burnt out and also required replacement. I had no choice but to agree to the work as I needed the car back but I asked them if it was possible that the damage to the ECU had been caused by them. -
Vauxhall Vectra ECU throttle sensor 10 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Hi all unlucky Vauxhall vectra owners! I have a 1998 2.0 dtl diesel estate which suffers from an intermittant ecu fault - which quite often happens at 70 mph on the motorway! Randomly the ecu light comes on and revs die to 1000 rpm -the car slows rappidly as it is obviously impossible to drive like this.By getting onto the hard shoulder stopping and turning engine off for a minute before restarting where by the fault has cleared.I have had the computer red on several occasions and the fault is always stored as throttle position sensor even though on digital readout the pedal seems to work fine. -
Ford Focus ECU Problem? 19 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Has anybody got any ideas as to the cause of the problems? I suspect they may be associated and to me they suggest a problem with the ECU. The car is always parked outside. Is it likely that damp has affected the ECU? Thanks, Tim -
Citroen C3 (2002 - 2009) - 03 1.4 16v ECU failure 13 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Hi, C3 Diesel 1.4, 16v HDi, 92hp. 3 yrs 10mths old 55K miles, looked after, shell diesel fuel only etc. Citroen UK are 99% certain that the ecu has gone duff. £852 inc vat for a new one! After my protestations that the ecu is not exactly a 'service item' and should reasonably be expected to last longer, CUK have agreed a 33% goodwill offer discount on parts and labour. -

Mercedes CDi poor performance 16 Feb 2003 (Forum)
The performance of my V220Cdi suddenly became very poor and the engine started sounding like a tractor. Apparently the ECU had picked up a couple fo fault codes and reverted itself to crawl home mode. All that was needed was the dealer to clear the ECU. -
Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 2003 - Remove ECU. 8 May 2019 (Forum)
Hi Guys. Does anyone know how to remove the ECU from a 2003 Ford KA? From what I can see it looks like you need to remove the whole dash! Surely that's not right! On that note, does anyone know how to remove the dash. I located a couple of bolts behind platic covers on the door sill, and one bolt behind the platic cover on top of the dash on the passenger side, and although the dash is looser, it still doesn't want to go anywhere. -
Mitsubishi i-Car - Random ECU warning light 17 Sep 2010 (Forum)
For the last 10 days the ECU warning light on my i-Car has been appearing randomly (5 occasions). When it does the car's response to the throttle becomes erratic. If I stop and restart the car it is OK again (like my PC!) -
Nissan Navara 2.5 - Nissan Navara 2.5 which is failing to start 12 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Hi, I have a Nissan Navara 2.5 which is failing to start, the engine turns over but there is a stored fault code "E1 NATS Malfunction" I suspect the immobiliser unit is not picking up the transponder signal from the key or it is not signalling the engine ECU with the correct information? (Faulty Immobiliser) If the car has a fuel cut-off solenoid at the rear of the injector pump is there a way of energising this to (allow operation) from the wiring into / out of the PCM/ECU? -
Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - 03 1.9 ECU remap. Do I need to upgrade brakes etc? 1 Oct 2009 (Forum)
ECU remap to increase PS from 130 to 170 for 1.9Tdi PD. Questions 1. Does anyone know whether it's realistic to expect this level of increase? 2. Is it suitable for an engine that's done 100K miles? 3. -

Peugeot 607 (2000 - ) - 2000 2.2 HDi - OBD Headers, Physical Addressing 15 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Hi, I want to access the particulate fluid ECU on my car to read and clear down DTC's contained within it so I can do this as I go along looking at things for problem diagnosis. I have a fairly (or very) technical question. Does any one know if the Particulate filter ECU be accessed like in the same way as other modules of the ECU by setting the headers in a terminal session? -
