• BMW 3 Series E46 - BMW Auto Trans Fluid Change or Not to Change 6 May 2016 (Forum)
  BMW dealers are all (with exception of one) with the sealed for life mantra. Transmission is operating perfectly - no bumps or noises or hesitation. If it's necessary I'd like to get it done, if not I'd prefer to save myself a few hundred quid!

  BMW X3 (wonderful car) , 6 weeks old, was parked, engine stopped (stop/start function), we locked the car and went to an event about 200 yards away.  It was announced at the event that the car engine was running and please return to the car.

  I've recently put down a deposit on a 2002 BMW 316 SE, it's fair to say im pretty nieve when it comes to BMW's and also the buying and selling of cars in general, so kinda just checking whether i've got an ok deal and if theirs anything i should be keeping an eye for with this model.

  My BMW business CD (standard) tends to 'blip' when listening to a CD, for about 2 secs, every 20 secs, for 10 mins or so, then is fine. Same with the radio, only it blips for half a sec, every 20 secs, for 10 mins or so of listening, then is fine.

  Hi I was wondering if anyone could give some info on this subject I have a 1999 vectra 1.8 ls and was thinking of changing it to a 1996 BMW 318i se. Would this be a good move the vectra has 105000 miles on it and the BMW has about 15000 more. I'm thinking the BMW would have better fuel economy as it is the same size engine but pulling a slightly smaller car.

  Hi Everyone, I hope that you are well. I have the option of buying a 2002 BMW X5 3.0i Sport, It has full agent history and 87,000 miles on the clock, overall it looks in nice condition but I have not yet driven it. It is priced up at 9995 but is up for a bit of negotiation, Im looking at trading in my car and maybe running one of these for a year or two.

  Hi, I've just bought a 2001 BMW 520i and am wondering where would be a good place to get it serviced? I live in E14 and any BMW specialists I've found listed are at least an hours drive away! Also I understand that for automatic transmissions I need to get the the auto fluid changed by a transmission specialist since it's a "sealed for life" transmission.

  My immediate thought is the cylinder head gasket, are there any other likely causes? If this is the problem, am I better off going to a BMW dealer, a non-franchised BMW specialist or an engine rebuilder, and does anyone have any recommendations in the Cambridge/Huntingon area? TIA

  I am looking at purchasing a BMW 530i which is a petrol BMW. I have seen the V5 and everything adds up. However when entering the registration into DVLA‘s car checker it says that the vehicle is a diesel model. Has anyone come across this before and how do I go about rectifying it?

  I have the xenon lights on my BMW and can't find any info in the book about driving abroad and whether or not you need "deflectors" whcih I know are a pain the rear to fit. My Audi A5 had a setting change on the menus but again can't seem to find this on the BMW?

  My daughter has the above model of BMW. The ABS warning light is on permanently. We have been informed the ABS unit is governed by a Teves mk. 60 DSC computer which has failed. We have been told that new from BMW the unit would be at least £800.

  Hi all, If a part is replaced under a genuine BMW warranty, what is the warranty on the replacement part? Is it 2 years, as per BMW genuine parts you pay for to be fitted yourself, or does the warranty of the specific part expire with the expiration of the main warranty?
