Fred Gallagher, ERA rally director, said, ‘Prince Borghese, the very first winner of the Peking to Paris, said it was driving the impossible, and I’m sure all of our crews would agree. ‘But they arrived in Paris to a heroic welcome and should all be very proud of what they have achieved. . 6 – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, registered GEN II, that starred in the 1968 Dick Van Dyke movie was sold by BCA twice in the 1970s. Six replicas were made, but this was the fully functional road-going Ford V6 powered car seen driving throughout the movie. The car was later bought by Chris Evans at auction in the USA for £496,415, but has lost its GEN II plate and been re-registered 772 YUJ. 5 – In the 1990s, BCA sold the actual 1964 Austin Princess Hearse that had been used for the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill in January 1965. -

BMW Classic commissions remanufacture of orginal BMW 328 gearbox 22 Mar 2012 (News)
The first prototypes have already been installed in the works vehicles of BMW Group Classic. During the course of the year, they will undergo endurance testing at a variety of driving events. Foreign entries rev up for Croft Nostalgia Weekend 1 Aug 2011 (News)
On the ground, taking centre stage will be a classic car show – organised by the Teesside Yesteryear Motor Club, more than 400 pristine models of car along with a variety of motorcycles and buses from the period will drive into Croft Circuit for a mouth-watering display. In addition, a huge array of WWII military vehicles will be on show. Arranged by the enthusiastic Military Vehicle Trust, these now total some 100 jeeps, cars, trucks, weapons carriers, motorcycles, fire engines and even aircraft. -
