Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 9-5-2015 9 May 2015 (News)
. After a half hour break I restarted, reversed and then drove off, but could hear and feel that the car was in Sports mode. In my old Octavia 1.9 that would have signified that I'd pulled the gear lever beyond D to S; however, as you know this model has a single gear lever D/S position. The readout in the small panel above the wheel confirmed that the car was in S: yet when I pressed the Mode button, on the main screen ECO was still ringed as selected. I tried pressing Normal, then ECO, but this had no effect. I stopped and restarted the engine, and this time it reverted to ECO mode as normal. Is this a known fault or may it just be a one-off? -

Rover P8 & P9 2 Aug 2013 (News)
Why was this decision made? Much speculation about William Lyons’ personal involvement with the P8′s death has been made, but an ex-employee of AE-Brico, Peter Wilson, shed some new light on this in Jaguar World Monthly magazine. ‘I arrived one morning to find a large group of engineers, all with long faces, surrounding a P8, which had been subjected to a 30mph frontal impact test at MIRA as part of its proving programme, Peter recalled. ‘The reason for their consternation was all too obvious. -
Is this Britain’s cheapest car? 24 Mar 2017 (News)
And the deal was made even sweeter on the realisation that there was enough petrol in the tank to get it home – well over £3.19’s worth, indeed. Result... The downsides? Well, it was filthy and for the first few miles of driving it, I did think it was destined to be a breaker - although it ran well, the heater was refusing to generate any warm air. Given the K-Series engine’s reputation for head gasket failure, my automatic mindset was to think the worst. -

Curios: British Leyland Safety Research Vehicles 25 Apr 2014 (News)
Of course, by 1974, the shape of the Princess had long been signed-off, so a cynic would conclude that the SRV2′s front had in fact been deliberately styled in order to mimic the new car’s outline. SRV3 The third SRV prototype was based on the BMC 1800, and like the other cars in the series, it featured heavily-modified frontal styling. -

It is kept in a dehumidified, heated store when not in use and is the winner of many awards.
