  Because disconnecting the battery had some effect ,I disconnected the live battery terminal again and left it off for an hour . That did the trick ,the car now starts and drives fine .I guess the time delay allows the ecu to reset ? A nice easy fix

  Didn't make any difference though and  I don't know if there are any other temp sensors that could be faulty. The car had a full service last October including new plugs. The ecu has been checked for error codes but there are none showing. Your thoughts please.

  This warning originally appeared last month, so I took it to the Citroen dealership garage, got charged £50 diagnosis and they 'fixed' it with an ECU software update. The fault code from diagnosis was 'P1197  Key off voltage low / Piezo-electric injector, power stage' . The warning sure enough went away but after about 4 weeks it's reappeared.

  Hi all, I have a problem with starting on the above C3. The ECU get errors and then it very hard to start. The garage clears the faults via the ODB2 port and the car starts perfect again. I stays right for between a couple of week and 3 months then stops starting well.

  Leaves blocked plenum chamber drain and water ingress caused £1300 damage to a ECU (I think!) under passenger footwell. Now no MMI functions working at all. I've never been notified of a known problem by Lancaster Audi, where I bought the car from new. Last service was September 2009 and not yet due for next service.

  My power steering recently failed right on top of the mot. The garage informed me that the steering column might need replacement, or the electric motor and ECU. That cost would be at least £250 for a refurbished electric motor.   The reality is that the steering motor has two relays that frequently fail.

  Or what else could it be? The car has just had a new MAF so that is fine and there are no faults recorded on the ECU. 2003, 68K HDi 2.0 110 Thanks

  Just had problems with  tyre presuure sensors. Cost £70 each plus £70 fitting each. ECU needs reprogramming afterwards to recognise new ones. Then problem with parking sensor. Cost £70 each plus, you've guessed it, £70 fitting. Car now 4.5yrs old so no warranty.

  The indicators make the clicking noise but the light on the dash isn't on. Is this a case of a fuse gone or something much more serious? someone mentioned a faulty ecu which sounds scarily expensive :/ any advice or tips would be much appreciated!   Thanx in advance for any help

  Used extra key to test, the car still refused to fire. Now I guess it is worst bcos it is showing ECU on the dashboard. I am thinking of breaking the damn thing into piece.  Confused right now. Car just did 95k miles. Never has such problem before with any car. Garage pushed the car to Citroen dealer.

  I had a friend take a look and says the starter is ok but is unsure exactly what is causing it. he said it maybe the brown 15 pin connector bolted to the back of the ecu case but wasnt sure as to what it is for. As he was taking a look he noticed a wire running fom one of the fuses in the fuse box next to the battery to a square black connector at the top of the fuse box and said that shouldnt be there like its bypassing something.

  My autodata doesnt have a wiring diagram for this vehicle so I am struggling with basic checks. The cam sensor has a 3 pin plug on the ecu side unplugged with 5 volts at 2 of the terminals and one to earth which seems odd. The crankshaft sensor has a 3 pin plug with pin 2 going to earth and nothing on the other 2. Reading around the internet there is some confusion if there should be 5 volts at this sensor?

  Hi Can anyone try and give me a few fresh ideas of why my fiat ulysse will not start, its a 2000 X JTD 8 Valve and the engine code is RHZ with a bosch ECU. I have done the usual stuff with these modern cars - i had a mobile guy come out and scan the car for codes. here is the rather long list he got: P0201 P0202 P0203 P0204 P0121 P0221 P1138 P1108 He said that the top 4 refer to injector codes and said its looking like a fuel pressure problem (i could guess that since its not starting) i am looking at getting the HP pump changed and injectors as the LP pump does deliver diesel through to the filter - checked by the guy and you can hear it buzz under the car.

  Apart from the diagnostics is there any other tests I can do / try to try and narrow this down.  Does the focus have a blinking ecu light thingy that my astra does when I press accelerator + break and count the flashes? Any advice greatly appreciated he's already spent a fortune getting through the last MOT!

  check cam belt timeing the engine had new big end bearings piston rings fitted and seems to be runnig great its just the emissions is driveing me mad!!! i did get told ecu can go faulty that stops you from resetting the emissions is this true?. can any one help me please and let me no!! many thanks ian

  I understand this is acheivable, but someone I contacted said they would not do it as it was 8 Hours labour and a right fiddle....you need to change the headlight ecu, and there are lots of wires. Does anyone know anyone who has done this before, and would be prepared to do it again. Does anyone know what exactly you have to do, as my mechanic is very good, and may be able to do it, with guidance.

  To date ive removed and checked behind instruments os dash vent ,scuttle trim, under wiper linkage,removed ecu looked inside A pillar. even taped up demister vent but the sound is the same. I also removed osf wheel arch liner and checked security of charcoal cannister but all seems normal. when you hear the rattle it seems so obvious where its coming from, but for me its a mystery.
