Cheaper, Faster Neons

Sat, 07 Apr 2001
Chrysler has cut the prices of its good looking Neon models and at the same time launched a 150bhp R/T version.

The price cuts bring the manual Neon 2.0SE base model down to £10,995 on the road, and the leather trimmed, air-conditioned manual Neon 2.0LX down to £12,995. Automatic transmission with cruise control is now an extra £300.

The new Neon R/T costs £13,995 on the road, gets to 60mph in 9.6 seconds, hits a top speed of 132mph and manages 42.2mpg on the extra urban EEC fuel consumption cycle (not to be confused with the combined mpg figure). Insurance is Group 12A.

Equipment includes air-conditioning , leather seats, boot spoiler, front air dam, foglights, electric height-adjustable driver's seat, electric foldaway mirrors, four disc CD player and front and side airbags.

Colour choice is Flame red, Black or Bright Silver, all with a Dark Slate leather interior.

All new Chryslers sold by UK Chrysler dealers come with a three year or 60,000 mile warranty and the R/T also comes with three years roadside assistance.
