Hi there, my nissan micra accelerator pedal has recently started creaking quite noisily. Is this just old age, ;-), or will I need to get it to a mechanic?

My 97 micra accelerator pedal creeks too and I was wondering the same thing. But as mine is 12 years old I put it down to old age. Hope it's nothing more serious.

Does the creak sound like its coming from inside the cabin, like its the pedal mechanism itself? Try some WD-40 lubricant spray on it if this is the case.

if its creaking from inside the car..ie the pedal mechanism i would tend to use something a bit less smelly like grease or vasaline
