01 1.3 Heater does not work - Matman
My heater does not work it blows out cold air in winter and hot air in summer. Basically what ever the temperature is outside it blows into the car. What do you think is causing this problem

Have you examined the thermostat, ie is it sticking?
Have you at any time disturbed a coolant hose and inadvertantly introduced an air lock?

It sometimes blows out mild air for a short duration however always ends up going back to cold air. Would you stll say this is a problem with the matrix

Try a new winter thermostat that should do the trick.

Also fit anti freeze and bleed correctly.

An added benefit of a weak thermostat is improved warm-up of the engine, therefore drivability, and improved economy all for a few £, a very easy job on this engine!

A thermostat can be changed on a 1.3 engine in less than five minutes.Standard thermostat is 88 deg. C,cold climate is 92 deg. C.Either can be used in the UK.
