Audi A6 Avant (2005 - ) - Parking sensors and towbar

Parking sensors and towbar - TimOrridge
Dear BR's

A colleague at workk has an A6 Avant with parking sensors and is contemplating having a towbar fitted. Would the fitment of such a device conflict with the parking sensors already installed?

Any answers and opinions welcoms.

Very much depends on type of sensors - if factory/dealer fit there may be some ability to get them adjusted to 'ignore' the towbar. Most aftermarket ones seem to specify a specific model which does this. Of course he could fit a towbar with removable head for day to day driving. One thing suddenly occurs to me - I've never driven with a trailer - but I assume that when you connect lights etc, the reverse light on the car is cancelled in favour of the one on the trailer??
