(02-05) 1.4 oil changes. - maltrap
my wifes 1.4 polo engine type BBY last had it,s oil changed a year ago by a vw main agent. (she,s owned the car for 6 months) they used fully synthetic oil, the car has since done 3000 miles. would i be wasting money changig the oil now or should i wait for the longlife service interval(3 years) i'd be changing it myself. thanks in anticipation.

Short, and therefore low temperature operation of the engine is as harmful (probably more so than high temp/high mileage useage) as other usage and the oil would be due for change after 12 months.
