Does anyone have a view on the merits of either of the above for use in Canada? The priorities are safety and economy.

Ran a UK 1999 Swift 1litre Sky for the wife. Great car, peanuts to buy, relatively quick (most people believed it was at least a 1300!) cheapish to service & reliable. Also the 3 cylinder was very economical as in 48MPG thrashed unmercifully. One of 3 Suzukis owned all of which have been great, 2 died prematurely crashed by the missus!
Wife has a (Company) Toyota Corolla which both of us hate, goes well, uncomfortable seats and over light controls. Not sure if thats the Toyota you're refering to.

Thanks very much both - the Suzuki sounds promising and there's nothing wrong with a Yaris derivative, is there?
So food for thought.....
