will Mk3 Golf (14 inch)wheels fit on my MK2 (13inch) and will the extra size make any difference to performance.

If I remember correctly, Mk 2 have a 4 stud pattern and Mk 3 have a 5 stud pattern. If this is the case they no, they wont fit.

I agree with BB as I own a mk2 and 3, they are not interchangable. However, I do run steel mk2 (14 inch) GTI wheels on my mk2 cl with no ill effect except the unpowered steering is a little heavy.

Mk 3 had 4 studs Mk3 GTI had 5 stud but all mk3 had a different offset to the MK2 and I am pretty sute the MK3 will foul the strut. Regards Peter

provided they are both 4 stud there is no problem at all, the rolling size of the wheel should be the same, on a mk2 with 14" wheels, ie the gti and driver came with 14" as standard, the tyre size should be 185/60/14
