My car is rear wheel drive and has doen 15,000 miles. The rear tyres have plenty of tread, the front offside is ok but the nearside outer half is almost warn to the marker. I notice quite a few cars seem to have this sort of wear pattern Would having the tracking checked help this or is is normal?
thanks

Happy New Year to everybody Read more
Sue,
As a youngster in the fifties, I lived in Reading towards Tilehurst. The Great Western marshalling yards were not too far away, and although "tucked up" I remember the steam trains blasting their horns for what seemed an age!
Here in West Sussex my small town still managed a substantial battery of fireworks. It suprised me as I don't remember them last year (Sober as a judge sir, as well)
A Happy new year to your own and to all the many other contributors and their families.
Regards,
Julian

You don't provide sufficient information to form a view. If the front offside has double the tread or more on its outer edge compared with the nearside, a combination of road conditions and front wheel alignment would be the likely suspects to cause this.
