What should I replace my Saab 9-3 Vector Estate with?

I have driven a Saab 9-5 Vector Estate 2.3t from new since 2002. I love the car and have put off changing it because I cannot replace it with another. What do I replace it with? Mercedes-Benz, BMW or Audi? I want a new car of similar power output. The other question is petrol or diesel? I have read all the comments regarding DPFs. I do between 10,000 and 12,000 miles a year but in that are trips of reasonable length most months, including a couple of journeys to Scotland each year. I am getting conflicting comments from dealers. Can you suggest the best option?

The closest match to this car is actually a Mondeo 2.0 EcoBoost 240 Estate. So that's petrol, and you should get a decent discount. If you can't, buy via www.drivethedeal.com
