Transfer of Original Manufacturer's Warranty 28 Apr 2009 (Forum)
If I buy used from a non-approved retailer do I get the balance of the manufacturer's warranty (assuming for arguments sake that there is a full service history)? Neither Toyota nor Mazda list their mechancal warranties as being transferrable. Is there some EU law or such that mandates what has to be provided to subsequent owners or is the warranty package part of the intial conrtact of sale on the car when new, which falls away when sold on? -
don't understand quote 16 Jul 2008 (Forum)
What I don't understand is that the total amount payable on £9500 at 6.9% APR is £10511 according to all the APR calculators I have found so why the £10770? THe quote is a dealer quote for a Mazda 2 -
SEAT Ibiza III (2002 - 2008) - TDi - experiences and feedback please. 12 Sep 2007 (Forum)
So I'm quite keen to go for a TDi this time but I don't want a big car. So far I've narrowed down my options to Ibiza and Golf TDi, Vauxhall Astra 1.7DTi and Mazda 323 diesel. Many Thanks as always! edited to make it searchable under the new drop down dodas - PU -
Your favourite car manufacturer 4 Jul 2007 (Forum)
We were having discussion at work yesterday about different car manufacturers, how they make good or bad cars, how pricey they're etc.. My favourite manufacturer is Mazda without doubt because they make ***very reliable*** cars, the cars are reasonably priced and quite easy to maintain. I dislike Renault the most becasue they just want to make good looking cars, I think they never even try to improve the reliability of their cars. -
New car choice (including Mondeo!!) 9 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I'm going to be getting a new (well, 6-18months old) car soon and the choice has come down to Skoda Octavia, Mazda 6 or Mondeo. Will probably be a diesel (for the first time) as they're by far the most common, at least in the better specs/trim, and the price difference isn't actually that huge. Got a drive in the Mazda6 2.0 TS2 in 2 days and drove a Mondeo 2.0 (130PS - would probably get Titanium X) and ST TDCi today. -
Are motoring Journalists that Stupid 24 May 2006 (Forum)
So why do these Journalists go off on the beaten track talking about bigger vehicles as rivals than its sister rival. The same happened a few years ago with the Ford Fiesta, when Mazda put their Logo on them. -

Worth respraying a 5 year old car? 7 Dec 2004 (Forum)
My T Reg Mazda 323 has some blemishes around the rear bumper and rear offside wheel - couple of deep scratches, grazes and marks accumulated over the last 5 years (I've owned the car for a year). A local, and recommended, body shop place will respray the bumper and rear three-quarter panel for £245. -
Antifreeze 15 Oct 2004 (Forum)
None of the antifreeze mixtures in the local motor factors mentioned silicates, only that they were "suitable for all engines". Fine, I went down to the local Mazda dealership's parts dept. "Low silicates? Never heard of them. We just stock Unipart." I described what I'd read and he phoned the service dept. "What antifreeze do we use? Just the usual stuff? OK." -
Metallic silver to go, Sir? 14 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Recently however, I have seen a few new white cars, Mercs, 5-Series BMW and Toyotas that, to my eyes, looked pretty good. Some cars are colour sensitive I know, but the new Mazda 3 (as an example of this) that sat in the showroom in white looked superb. Is it possible that in three year's time dealers will be saying: 'Metallic silver? Yes, we still do it but I would recommend a nice solid white for future residuals come trade in.' -
Family Saloon Car 10 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I have roughly £10k and am steering away from a brand new car, maybe 1 up to 2 years old, I was thinking along the lines of a Citreon C5 read various reports, Vectra, new Astra or Mazda 6, the £10k I fear would need to be flexible for some of the cars mentioned, could I have a bit of guidance, mileage is not an issue as I don't do a great deal! Cheers. -
Tiptronic autoboxes 24 Jan 2004 (Forum)
He reckons it should be nudge forward to change down, nudge back to change up. (He comments favourably on the new Mazda 3 which operates that way.) Maybe there's a logic in nudging forward to make further onward/forward progress. But to me it doesn't feel right. I'm with HJ: pull back to change up - and I did make the odd mistake when I test drove a BMW 3 with tiptronic. -
New Passat 7 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Just seen high quality pics of the new VW Passat in July's Car magazine. Looks more muscular and aggressive than its predecessor, mild echoes of Mazda 6 (esp. on estate version) but very tight and taut. Story says they're ditching longitudinally mounted engines in favour of transverse only, which means yet more internal space within the same 'footprint' but curtains for engines like the V6 petrol and TD motors and the walloping W8. -
Silver paintwork defect ??? 14 May 2003 (Forum)
And twice I have seen what seems to be a manufacturing defect with the paintwork on these vehicles. The cars I saw this 'defect' in were a Mazda MX5 and an Audi TT. The problem was that of very visible alternate light and dark vertical banding (like zebra stripes, but about 4 inches wide). This affected the whole side of the car. The banding was only visible when viewing the car from the rear with a viweing angle of around 30 degrees to the paintwork. -
Auction Success 10 May 2003 (Forum)
Hi all I just thought I would let you know that after ceaseless searching I have finally managed to secure the bargain that I wanted. I have just bought a 98 'R' Mazda 626 with 103k (warrantied) with air con, cl etc for the princely sum of £1650 at auction today. the car itself is filthy, so needs a good valet. I will also change the oil, filters and timing belt asap, but otherwise is a good car, with no sign of bodywork or paint jobs and no big scratches or scrapes. -
Black Smoke / Liquid from exhaust 30 Jul 2002 (Forum)
Hello, I have a Mazda Xedos 6 - 2.0 V6 Petrol - 65,000 miles. I have recently noticed that there is black smoke / black liquid coming out of the exhaust. It is apparent at idle and gets worse the harder you rev it. The inside of the exhaust pipe seems to coated with black soot as well. -

Mazda 2 - Insurance claim: what would you do? 15 Dec 2024 (Forum)
Hello, I will try to keep this as succinct as possible. I bought a car (Mazda 2, 2011, 1.3L petrol manual, ~42k miles) about two weeks ago. I drove it home, used it one other time, and the next time I found it the driver side window was smashed in and plastic panels around the ignition had been slightly lifted.
