  My brother has today purchased a 1998 Nissan Almera GTi which has the 2.0 16V Twin Cam engine. The car has covered a verified 64,000 miles and has a full Nissan service history. I am told that these engines have two cam chains as opposed to belts.

  Tuesday was exactly the same and my wife called the RAC (Nissan breakdown). The guy took it for a drive and stated that the fault didn't occur. He also confirmed that the ECU held no fault codes.

  I am terrified to go out in the thing now as I'm scared it'll let me down - and I can't afford a new car right now. P.S the same Nissan garage has always serviced it since I got it with exception of one service and MOT a few years back when stepdad was dying so I was away from home.

  SAT 26 FEB TILL SAT 5 MAR  CASE 3 MONDAY 7 MARCH 2days after i had the car back, the exhaust had been gum gumed and the back box was making more noisy and was rattling when i took my foot off the excelerator, i rang him again and told him i would bring it back in when i finish on my course down in Brecon. harldey used the car for 3 weeks, took it back in MONDAY 28 MARCH I told him what i though and he said he would look at it. i called in on TUESDAY 29 MARCH and he had sent the car to a NISSAN gargage. I then went to the NISSAN gargage and the tect there said that the CAT was damaged and the back box is making to much noisy. They informed the car gargage i bought the car from. i then rang the car gargage on WEDNESDAY 30 MARCH and he said the car is still down at NISSAN and nissan have told him the CAT needs replacing thats why the engine light keeps coming on, the Car garage then told me this cant be right and will cost £2000, he said he is going get one of his guys to look at it later today.

  Car has been running perfectly until Wednesday evening when I started hearing and loud rattling noise cooing from the rear of the car (2015 Nissan quashqai 1.6 dci xtronic) for 2 days I was looking for the source of this noise looking under the car checking the exhaust, heat shield any plastic trim and couldn't find the noise. This morning after finishing work I just happened to spot the the outside rear part of the roof rail was loose.

  Hi all, not been here for a while looking for help / advice please. My daughters Nissan Micra K11 16v started to run really poorly at low revs and stalling at junctions etc. I just about got it to my mates garage with the instruction to keep it cheap as possible as she has not got much money.

  Please help. My 1993 Nissan Terrano 2.7 Turbo Diesel wont always start from cold. It either starts fine or takes ages of turning it over before producing clouds of unburnt fuel then starting, more often its the latter. I had the AA out who said there was no power to the glow plugs and gave me a can of easy start, which works but is no long term solution.

  In terms of spec there was very little wanting from the NConnecta.  Finance wise, there are deals to be had on price and Nissan seem willing to guarantee fairly high final value which keeps the total cost over 3 years well within the range .   What else should we consider?

  Nissan micra k12 2003 1.0E model I seen some previous posts about this problem on this and other sites but i just dont know what is my best option. I suddunly developed this fault one day where the hazzards came on, and i cant turn them off!

  Hello, I've been looking to buy a replacement car and the Nissan Note appears to be well regarded and has generally pretty good overall feedback. Originally, I was considering the 1.4 petrol but  not sure how well this would cope when fully loaded. So, thought turned to diesel - I do enough mileage (and it is out of town stuff too) to warrant one, but have been put off a bit by the reliability issues that seem to plague modern diesels.

  Last Tuesday 19th Feb I bought a 10yr old Nissan Terrano from a garage - 70,000 miles, one owner, FSH, £4,000. I drove it 80 miles home and parked it on the driveway where it stayed until Thursday. Within 30 mins of driving it again, it had stopped 5 times before I managed to get it to my garage.

  Hi all, Having read this site for weeks now I am considering purchasing a 2003-2006 Nissan X-trail and just wondered if anyone out there can offer advice? I have read the forums and advice and notice that they are highly thought of but the diesels suffer more problems than the petrol ones.
• Nissan Primera III (1999 - 2002) - 00 1.8 PAS pump noisy? 17 Aug 2009 (Forum)
  When it has quietened down at idle it will come back for a while if the steering is turned, so I suspect that the PAS pump is at fault. Few questions: 1) Are these parts *really* nearly £400 on a Nissan? ISTR replacing the pump on an old Cavalier and getting change from £100 new.... 2) Is it a complete pump replacement or is it possible to replace/refurb the bearings at lower cost? 3) How long would the pump be expected to last in its current condition?

  While returning from mot station with friends Nissan Sunny (which it passed) the car started stuttering as tho running out of petrol. I had some fuel in the boot and topped it up......after a lot of cursing and cranking the engine eventually fired and drove home without further trouble.

  Hi, I have just bought a 1991 Nissan Patroln LWB with an extra high roof (think it's called a Safari or Grandroad) and would like to find out a little about this enormous beast. It has the 4.2 litre turbodiesel engine with a 3 speed automatic gearbox - I think this is quite rare and actually seems to work quite well despite a mileage of 190,000!

  My friend took her Nissan Micra to a local mechanic to carry out the MOT. It failed on emissions so he "did some stuff" to make it pass. Now not only does it do 7 miles to a fiver petrol, but as soon as the temp gauge starts to rise off 'C' it won't run!!!

  (Sorry for shameless repeat posting , but this got hidden in a long thread,and looking for any responses) I have finally narrowed the choice of SUVs that can be bought in the price range of approx £12000-14000. The Nissan Xtrail-Looks good, claimed fuel consumption 39mpg! on the diesel.Plus Nissans famed reliability record. Rav4-Claimed to drive like a hatchback,good resale values and reliability, dont know how good the diesel is though.

  Nissan QX 3.0 SE Auto with LSD (1995) Bought in October 2002 at 93k and now at 123k. Intended to keep until 2006 or 200k, whichever is sooner. Or unless someone advice me otherwise. Best: 31.9 mpg Average: 26.9 mpg [60% urban; 40% motorway] Urban: 22.3mpg [central London] Worst: 12mpg [used in 4 road rallies] Serviced every 5k.
