• Nissan Almera - Replacement for '04 Almera, 20,000 miles per year? 11 May 2012 (Forum)
  Hello, I'm considering replacing my 54 plate Nissan Almera in a few months. The sole reason is to squeeze more miles out of my money. My Almera costs around £65 to fill the tank and I can eek out around 460 - 480 miles per tank. I'd like a diesel, but I'm put off by the stories on this site about the reliability of common rail engines.

  Hi,  I was recently in my girlfriends Nissan micra and noticed a whirring/rumbling noise coming i think from the rear of the car. It seems to become noticeable at above 30mph and from what i could tell, the pitch of the sound increased with speed until it wasn't that noticeable over general cabin noise at about 70mph.

  I recently bought a Nissan Almera 2000-2002 Petrol 1.5L When the engine gets to 1500 rpm, there is no power build up at all and it takes somewhere around 4 seconds to pick up and move to higher rpm. This is felt more on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears.

  recently in this bad weather got squealing noise when very wet or cold and snowy. assumed fan belt needed tightning. at nissan service 28/01/10 reported noise. was told this noise had appeared on these vehicles recently and offered new fan belt £70+, car has only done 22,000 miles and service sheet says change belt drives every 5 years. anyway they tensioned up belt and I now get continuous screeching noise so will have to revert back to garage and possibly have new belt fitted. this seems wrong, garage can argue belt design is causing noise so cost down to me as belt is otherwise perfectly ok!

  Hi I am considering buying a Nissan X-trail and thanks to this place I think I have asked the right questions. It has revealed that the car I am thinking of buying had the turbo replaced at around 20k but not the ECU, which has been checked regularly since.

  I have a friend who has recently had some trouble with her 53 registration Nissan Micra 1.2se which has been diagnosed as having a stretched timing chain, Nissan are asking for £1200 to repair it. The bodywork on the car carries several battle scars and the car has been valued at £1500 as it currently is.

  I've got a 96 plate Nissan Almera 1.4. Stopped the car at a friend's house without turning it off and then put the car in the first gear to drive off and then the gear won't change. Now the gear knob is in a position far below than where you'll have the second gear engaged but the car is definitely in the first gear.

  Found an oily (clear, light, brown) substance to be leaking from my girlfriends car the other day - 1.0l Nissan Micra, 93 i think (L reg). Had an inspection under car, and could see it pouring from what we now believe to be the gear box. We came to this conclusion because the following morning, we tried to drive to a garage to get repaired, goit 200 yards from home to a junction, changed gears and absolutely nothing happened, revved as if we were in neutral and slamming my foot on accelorater.

  Is there an override option with an intelligent key on a Nissan Micra? As far as I make out it is not possible to lock the car with any keys in it. Is this correct? I am thinking of things like: - driving through a city centre at night when the safety advice is to lock yourself in - lending a car to someone who leaves it in an agreed place with the keys slam-locked into the boot to await another keyholder fetching it - several drivers going to a sports or similar event and all but one of them leaving their keys in the car to avoid dropping them All quite common situations that I would expect my car to cope with.

  I can do this with the Alfa and it doesn't store a fault code, but In so far as I can remember the Nissan ECU stores the code and does not clear until it was reset. Thanks for any assistance you can give a now ex-member. { SLT and moved from Discussion. }

  My 97000 mile Nissan Primera 2.2dCi T-SPEC cruise control appears to be faulty. I bought it a few weeks ago, private deal, and wonder whether it might be my misunderstanding of how it works. I have not owned a car with cruise before, but I use a Peugeot 806 at work that has it.

  Helo everyone,i was hoping i can get some advice....... im new to the internet and having trouble finding a site that might list the valve clearances for my 1989 1.0 gsx nissan micra (87000 miles one previous owner no history) its not worth buying a haynes manual because its the only job i have to do that requires spec.Besides,the car was only £20, but i expect it to be a reliable a run-around seeing as it went straight through the mot after being stood still for a year outside(i only serviced the brakes before i took it down mot station) Its in real good condition other than the clearances needing doing.Im not expecting much power out of it but i do need to do this so can anyone tell me where/if i might find the spec?

  My major worry is reliability and safety, but I also want great performance. I have come across a 01Y Nissan Maxima QX 3.0 SE+ in dark blue with 85k miles on the clock for £6k but I am going to haggle like mad. The question is 1) Should I change it or better the devil I know? Is the new car more of a problem sourcing parts?

  Nissan Almera/ Toyota Avensis/ Corolla Hello all Having started a new job 45 miles form home unsurprisingly the 40mpg I`ve been getting fro mmy `98 Renault Megane isn`t enough.   I have a 2015 NISSAN X-TRAIL TEKNA DCI 4X4 and the offside front suspension arm ball joint keeps wearing prematurely, the arm has been replaced 3 times in the past 2 years. I had a Nissan dealer replace both front suspension arms and then at a check around 6 months later they noticed the offside arm was excessively worn so they replaced it under warranty.

  But now my extended warranty has left than a year to run, and the car looks like its going to have another replacement turbo and intercooler, what do I do now because Nissan obviously have not really fixed the problem? At just over 54K miles is it acceptable for Nissan to just keep changing the items until the warranty runs out without addressing the underying cause?
