  Can anyone tell me if my ZX's heater is knackered as when i put it on the smell is a burning plastic type and I have to resort to the cold air and open windows and when on full blower the heat feels like a very hot hairdryer and you have to remove your hand due to being burnt.

   The car turned to park on the footpath using the turnoff to the car-park but going too fast.  The near-side front wheel bounced high as it ran onto the kerb and the car turned off the footpath back onto the road.

  Hi I’m thinking of buying a used car, checked the mot history and not sure if the failures would affect it in future if anyone could advise?   Front tyres on my Titanium X diesel seem to be wearing quickly.This was a Ford direct vehicle bought with 15k on the clock. I have heard that Mondeos are prone to this front scuffing and wear. Rear seem OK.

  Hi Service in August indicated front pads were '85% worn', garage (not our local Ford dealer) wanted to replace them. Didn't take that at face value and we only do about 5,000miles pa so left it until now; MOT is due soon. I've had a look and the front n/s pad seems to have 5mm left.

  I have a VW Golf Diesel 130,manuel, 22000 gentle miles. Recently I have noticed an unusual noise from the front wheel ( probably offside) It is quiet and does not happen every time Sometimes it "sounds like " a brake pad sticking on the disc. or imagine while you have stopped a walnut is put under the front tyre and the sound heard is a feint pop as you drive off over it.

  I thought maybe it was for front fogs or something else around the front of the car. Nothing seemed to be malfunctioning but as the sun came out one lovely day I discovered that my air-con does not work. It makes noises like it is working but there is absolutely no cold air coming out, it is at ambient temperature.

  306, 1995 DT, 150K I have recently replaced the front struts, springs, wishbones on the front of my dear old 306. Since the work the car drives perfect, holds the coners, no bouncing, I could not be happier, however, every so oftern there is a funny vibration type noise.

  Hi my previous neighbour extended his lowered kerb, driveway at side of house, to give additional access to the front of his house, without getting council permission. I have a 1 car permitted driveway at the front of my house, however have more than 1 car in the household. Until the house next door was sold I parked my car across the start of the illegally lowered kerb.

  Just this morning - cold but no colder than any others recently, I got into the car, started her up and hit the air con along with the fan and heat settings. Then noticed that the air con light was slowly flashing on and off. Air con seems to be working as it cleared relatively quickly but nothing I could do short of turning off the fans would stop it flashing. can't find anything in the manual about so wondered if anyone on here could help?

  All the relays are far as I know are under bonnet so I can't attribute the cause to an over heated relay. Googling the problem it seems that Hondas used to have this affliction. It's a mystery, what could it be?

  Hello all, I have a Micra K12 (2003, SVE).   I've just collected my car having had the drive belts replaced (one was squeaking) and the heater isn't working. No heat and no fan on any setting. It was fine when I took it in. Do you think they've done something to it when replacing the belts?

  About a mile later the on board computer appeared with the warning injector fault and to stop immediately. I pulled over onto the hard shoulder and there noticed a lot of smoke and heat coming from the engine bay and the car would not start, and hasn't since. I was taken off the motorway by a tow truck and now I am waiting for them to find out what the problem is. I have looked online but I can't see any similar problems with a solution.

  i have trouble with the heating in my car which is a 91 vw golf 16 gtd mk2. someone told me it might be the heater bypass valve can someone describe what it looks like or email me a photo of one. my heater will work as normal until it gets to normal running temp then it goes cold if i turn it off for a bit and turn it back on its fine. its not the thermostat i replaced it and checked it. has someone any other ideas?

  Where I live it was a bit windy yesterday and for the first time since buying the car, the alarm went off a total of four times in about three hours. Each time I checked it and reset it. On the fourth time I did three things, I shut the interior sunroof screen, I turned the heating controls to exit the floor only, and lastly I removed one of those interior perfume "Trees" which hung on the indicator stalk.
