My peugeot appeared to spontaneously combust in the drive after being at rest for an hour and a half. The fire brigade identifed the cause as a probable electrical fault in the light cluster. Independent engineer assigned by insurance co. said it appeared to be as a result of a fault in the wiring loom. -

A diagnostic test at Kwik Fit has identified an intermittent fault on a 'coil' adjacent to the radiator cooling fan. He has got a price for the part from Peugeot and has told me it will cost £157 to repair. He also did a reset on the system and has indicated that this might sort the problem for a while at least. Would you happen to know the proper name for this coil that he mentions, can it be obtained from another source than Peugeot for less than this and how easy is it to replace? -

Two weeks ago I ran out of diesel (because I didn't want to have to wake my newborn son to go in and pay - silly mistake). I called Peugeot Assist & a really nice chap who knew nothing about Peugeots brought some diesel out. After trying to start it half a dozen times I finally persuaded him that the manual had advice on what to do. With some help from the manual we found the degas screw and the priming pump & eventually got the car started. -

Hi all, I just bought my first peugeot. A 1.8 2002 406 lx. It was all great for a while, then a few days ago, the 'STOP' sign came on, I stopped for a while, then started again, but it was gone. Earlier today the car suddenly started cutting of whenever I break at low speed.
