02 1.8 Newbie: cutting off and antipollution issue - latch
Hi all,

I just bought my first peugeot. A 1.8 2002 406 lx. It was all great for a while, then a few days ago, the 'STOP' sign came on, I stopped for a while, then started again, but it was gone. Earlier today the car suddenly started cutting of whenever I break at low speed. When I restart, it starts okay on first trial, but every now and then the 'STOP' light flashes. Theres no indication whatsoever where the fault is from.

Later, I got home parked the car for a while, then drove around a bit, but it never happened again.

Four hours later, I start the car, and the engine diagonistics warning light is on, and 'anti pollution fault' is now showing on the screen.

Can anyone kindly help me here please?

Further, does any of your know really great peugeot mechanic around the oakwood/cockfosters/enfield area in London?
