  The Bentley was built in 1929 and six years later bought by the grandfather of the current owner. He took the saloon on holidays around the UK, even towing a caravan. In 1985 it was taken off the road and parked in a barn in Surrey. The owner thought it would be worth £30,000 but the motor is actually ‘one of the finds of the decade’ and has a guide price of £150,000 - £250,000.

  But we don't have enough feedback on it to advise in detail:  /carbycar/jaguar/xj-x350-2003/     Cyclecar 5 years ago I asked you for advice on a small, low cost, economical car that would take a tow bar to carry my bike rack. You pointed me towards a Hyundai i10 and it turned out to be brilliant advice. The car has done its job and has been no trouble. Now I need exactly the same advice again as the new i10 won't accept a tow bar and I refuse to pay for a new rack (not needed) and system that Hyundai have created for this purpose.

  If you are responsible for a large goods vehicle (more than 3.5 tonnes) or a public service vehicle (with 8 or more passenger seats) used commercially, you will require a valid test certificate if the vehicle has been substantially changed in the last 30 years or if, in the case of a goods vehicle, it is used when laden or towing a trailer.   Which old, large vehicles do not require testing from 20 th May 2018? Buses and other public service vehicles with 8 or more seats that are used commercially are exempt if they are pre-1960 vehicles.

  The loadspace can be lengthened via a bulkhead flap and fold-flat passenger seat, if optioned, but the interior bodywork isn’t lined above half height, making it easy to damage with larger loads. Towing capacity is as much as 685kg unbraked on the larger engine choices, and up to 1400kg with a braked trailer.  Engines/transmissions   Vauxhall could have fitted any engine available in its Astra passenger car line-up into the Astravan, but it kept the range simple with three diesels and a single petrol.
