Used Buying Guide: Volkswagen Amarok 2011-2019 16 Jun 2025 (News)
Also check the tyres for uneven wear caused by poor alignment. If it’s got a tow bar, ask what it’s been towing, and how frequently. It’s a capable tow car, but even so, towing it does add more strain and increase the wear on the drivetrain. Check the oil, if the light on the dash has come on then you could already be too late. -

With plenty sold you won’t be short of choice, and with many used as family cars rather than working vehicles even at this price point you can afford to be picky regarding condition. Those used commercially will inevitably have led a tougher life, but the Navara’s towing capability is a draw for many buyers, so ask what it’s towed if there’s a towbar fitted. Around the £5000 mark you’ll be spoilt for choice, so bargain hard and look for the lowest miles and best maintained. -
