Jaguar S Type 3L Manual Gearbox Year 2000 - Jaguar S Type Misfire 26 Oct 2012 (Forum)
Once at temperature any acceleration is accompanied by a misfire up to approx. 4,500 rpm after which it appears to go away. There is no engine warning light or any error codes logged in the ECU. Although it will continue to accelerate performance is retarded. Tick over at temperature is slightly lumpy. On an unrelated issue, ever since I have had the car the engine idle speed is approcx2000 rpm until you come to a complete stop at which point it drops to approx 800rpm. -
Crank Sensor fault? - Vectra B....... 1.8........ 2001 7 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Ive read in here about the possible earthing problem with the MAF but has anyone else had similar problems and found it to be something else? The only thing I can see beyond the earthing problem is the ECU. Planning on giving the earth on the MAF some beefing up a bit and will see what happens but if it was that then why would the crank sensor keep showing on the diagniostics? Even when cleared over and over it was the only thing that came back up which is odd... -

Someone told me you shouldn't jump start modern cars, and that Pugs are bad for frying the ECU if you do - but as shestarts/ runs/drives/pulls okay, Im hoping its a simple issue I can fix mysel, there was no problem prior to the jump start, so Im sure its the cause.. Thanks for reading! -
VW Golf 1.4 2002 Engine BCA - How to reset an Exhaust emission warning lamp 16 Jan 2012 (Forum)
2) Is this clicking common or does it point to a blocked carbon filter, dodgey purge valve or some ecu controlling the valve ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -

Audi 2.0 fsi 2003 - Fuel problems Audi 2.0 FSI 18 Jul 2011 (Forum)
Several times limped home on safe mode. Dealer diagnosed faulty coil, duly replaced. Fault reoccurred. Then diagnosed faulty ECU. Again replaced. Fault reoccurred. Eventually after several more recoveries dealer offered to keep car for a few days and let mechanic drive home. No fault first few times. After 3 days fault appeared. -
Peugeot 307 - DPF Removal 24 Apr 2011 (Forum)
I'm thinking about just getting rid of the stupid DPF filter and solving all my problems. I've heard about people doing it without a remap and fooling the ECU into thinking the DPF is still there so no warning lights appear. Has anyone managed to do this? Any tips if I go ahead? -
Peugeot 206 - Engine light flashing - Just serviced *Please Help 12 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Evening all, The engine light started flashing this evening after i finished work. It flashed constantley the whole way home. When i got home i unplugged the Batteryhoping that the ECU would "reset" itself but it hasn't. When driving it feels very lumpy and suffers a loss of power under load. I serviced the car yesterday, changing the oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filter. -
Peugeot 306 1.6 petrol - fuel pump problem 5 Oct 2010 (Forum)
The engine turns over spark plugs are working, but the fuel pump is not I removed the relay on the ecu box and was able to get the fuel pump working that way by shorting 2 pins but after buying a new relay the pump still won't work. After pulling up the rear seat on the drivers side I noticed it has been leaking water as the foam is very damp under the seat at the fuel tank. -
Skoda Octavia II (2004 - ) - 05 1.9 Windows opening at night 11 Dec 2009 (Forum)
The keys sit on a hook at night so the opening button could not have been pressed. My garage has not found anything wrong with the ECU and is making further enquiries. It has done it before on very cold days, but then the windows only opened a bit. Could it be the driver's door window seals letting water onto the door lock unit, as I notice these seals do not wipe the glass very well and could be worn. -
MINI MINI One D R50 (2003 - 2007) - 03 1.4 Help With Cutting Out Problem Please 21 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I have had the fault codes read and the only code logged is P3002 which is a manufacturer specific code. I googled and on some toyotas (same engine) it means HV ECU malfunction? I tried disconnecing the MAF and running the car, but it still cuts out. Any more help or advice warmly received. -
Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - 04 2.2 engine swap, whats coded and whats not? 13 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I am getting the donor engine complete with injectors and turbo etc still attached, does anyone know if any of this is coded to the ECU and will require programming in etc? The injectors dont look too dissimilar to later renault dci types which I know have to be coded in hence the reason for checking. Thanks. PS all tips welcome, although the old unit is ready to lift now. -
Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - 04 2.2 Diesel - glowplug warning light problem 14 Sep 2009 (Forum)
No diagnostic code - they checked the fuel system and replaced the diesel filter (which was in back to front), checked (but did not dismantle) the exhaust / cat and then tried a replacement ECU. Nothing found - they said it was OK to drive home but the fault would recur - and it has. Will not rev above 2,000 and there is some sort of power limiter which means the speed dies away on an up-slope. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 00 1998 New hub or just new ABS sensor? 3 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Shortly after the rear wheel baring collapsed. Now the wheel baring has been fixed and the ABS light is still on (Yes I have re-set the ECU). Also the brake light comes on intermittently. I took the car to a garage and they said that the problem was coming form the rear nearside wheel and that it was was probably a knackered ABS sensor. -
Ford Fusion (2002 - 2008) - 2004 1.4 Diesel Injector Seals 16 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Other local independents I have spoken to have indicated that this repair is not straightforward as the Injector Nozzles have to be "coded" back into the ECU. I'm no mechanical genius so I don't know if the above is a load of guff :P Can someone please give me straight answer or opinion ? Cheers Andy -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 99 1.8 TDI fuel pump reconditioning 1 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I've done the obvious things and it would appear to be the fuel pump. As this is a major unit and usually mapped to the cars ecu / immobiliser I am enquiring about having the unit reconditioned. Has anyone any experience of using these people? wwwDOTdieselpumprepairsDOTcom (replace the DOT with a . ) Or can anyone make any recomendations other than ford as to who I could have look at the pump? -
BMW 5-Series E39 (1996 - 2003) - 98 2.0 replacing 2.0 single vanos engine 28 Apr 2009 (Forum)
There are options of 2.5 single vanos engines from e36 cars or a 2.0 single vanos engine from an e34. The 2.0 would be preferable as I think the fueling would be better suited to my ecu etc. Just not sure if it fits in directly with exhaust manifolds etc? The engine codes are very similar suggesting they are the same engine with minor modifications for the later car. -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace (1998 - 2010) - 2008 1.6 HDi engine races 17 Apr 2009 (Forum)
On reaching the top of a steep hill on Sunday I released the accelerator, the engine started to rev faster and the ECU light came on momentarily. Any suggestions please. -
Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 99 1.3 Poor spark on 2 cylinders 6 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Had the usual spark plug problem (now resolved) and have changed the spark plugs, leads and coil pack but I am still getting a poor spark on 1 and 4 whilst 2 and 3 are fine - which seems to imply the coil pack but I have changed that again to another brand new one and I still get the same problem. Can't find any wiring issues so my final guess is that the ECU is somehow causing this problem - but wouldn't that mean no spark rather than a weak spark? Any advice / ideas welcome!!!
