Peugeot 307 - DPF Removal - UJU

I bought a Peugeot 307 HDi 2.0l a few months ago. Due to test driving in the snow we didnt notice that the car was down on power (wont make that mistake again!) Anyway I invested in a diagnostic and replaced the MAF and cleaned the DPF filter. However as I work in town and have a 40 min drive though town 2-3 times a week the DPF isnt getting much chance to regen and is slowing my car down again. I'm thinking about just getting rid of the stupid DPF filter and solving all my problems. I've heard about people doing it without a remap and fooling the ECU into thinking the DPF is still there so no warning lights appear. Has anyone managed to do this? Any tips if I go ahead?

Apparent there are forthcoming MOT test changes for Diesels where testers will be actively looking for remaps and presumably illicit DPF removals, by testing emissions thoroughly...how this will work in practice is anyones guess.

Whatever you do bear that in mind, the trouble is those who offer these solutions may not be the most forthcoming with the correct information if it's going to affect their business.

There are companies that specialise in removel and reprograming the ecu you could do this and keep all the parts incase you needed them again.Wouldn't it just be easier to repair the problem there is a lot of rubbish talked about DPF units normally the fault lies elsewhere, with your drive it should work without any bother at all.I am running a 407 sw 1.6 at the moment long runs on a monday and friday and extremely short runs through the week have clocked 70k km with no bother exept a cap coming adrift on the eoly tank which gave the symptoms of a blocked DPF put right in minutes by a friendly Peugeot agent .

Completely concur. The pressure drop across the DPF should be under 0.15 bar or so. The idea that they choke the engine is nonsense. Peugeot use Eolys which greatly alleviates the problem of regen. If it is clogging up and not regenerating, the problem lies upstream.

thanks for that information. should the pressure drop be measured at tickover or when revved? Prior to cleaning the DPF the first time the pressure drop settled down at 0.4 bar when redlined. Is this really normal?
